I paid $50 for my Pocket Mod scooter within the plastics. I upgraded to a 48 volt 1000 watt brushed motor with an appropriate controller and variable throttle. Now I just need to upgrade the motor mount. The new motor didn't come with it's own mount welded onto it, so I made one with wood and a metal face plate. Eventually, I will get a welding machine to weld a metal motor mount to the motor. I also plan to upgrade the brakes to disc brakes. In addition, I currently use a rechargeable bicycle taillight and headlight for it. But, I may eventually install the car trailer taillights, with brake lights, that I have onto it. I also plan to build some turn signal circuits so I can signal my turns without hand signals.

Would ryobi batteries power the stock motor? I just acquired one that was being tossed and it didnt have a battery. Two 18v 4ah wired in parallel on the 12v motor?

@zombieno1 Motor should be fine but controller might not be. Factory system is 24v.

@@TechUpBuilds ah. Forgot about that. Come to think about it.. I don't remember seeing a controller lol. I must have inherited another father's failed project. Hmm. At least it was free.

How many watts is the motor

I just found one of these and I put my 12v lithium batteries on it and it keeps shutting off. Does that mean my batteries are too strong for the controller? I cut it off then back on and it works still.

i want to run same motor and controller for a pocketmod as well will i be good with a 48v 20ah Lithium battery pack?
@TechUpBuilds7 ай бұрын
Yes, just check what how many amps can be supplied from the battery pack/BMS as you want at least 30A.

does the motor heat up quick?

I currently use a 48v 20AH lithium battery pack. It works ok if I don't have to ride more than 25 miles in a day. When I can afford to, I'll upgrade to a battery pack that is at least 40AH.

would 72v? work with this build or you think thats overkill? i have one of these mini razor peds my grandpa gave me this thing when i was like 6 he passed away it would be so cool to make a crazy sleeper build out this thing

It really depends how much you want to spend. The build I did was already up to $300 not including the bike.

I recently welded it shut, only issue at low speed the chain can slap due to the chain tensioner but it hasn't been a problem for me.

Not right motor
@TechUpBuilds Жыл бұрын
Why not?

It depends what you want out of your build. You don't want to be running a heavy motor on something this small with minimal room for batteries and controller.
