I really disliked how MODO drums sounded so i uninstalled it. They don't sound great in pro mixes

Agree. There is like it needs more compression that’s necessary due to dynamic. It becomes an overkill, but too little headroom to make it great. I don’t know, anyway, that’s how my mindset has become. I rather use the XLN addictive drums, but it’s probably all about taste and what you are used to work with. In 90% of the project I find myself using some dubs on kick and snare anyway to make it fit the overall sound. Often I use some adjustments of the MODO drums snares and kicks as the layers/dubs be course of the abilities of adjustments 😅 I often find MODO bass to be the right sound though.

With the stick tip options, you're hearing almost no difference because you had the "stick volume" knobs at almost zero. Turn those up and the different tips HUGELY impact the sound. Made at oversight myself at first. I use that feature to get a strong snare transient without relying on loads of compression. Very useful as a metal producer.
