Beautifully set up brother. I turn 65 at the end of this year and I have owned almost all other brands of motorcycles, except Harley Davidson. I have major medical issues with my legs and back (Aussie veteran), so Weight and comfort are paramount. After a cr*p load of research and test rides. the Heritage fits the bill perfectly. I'm 6'2, 235lbs (on a good day), and the ergonomics are great. This bike will be my birthday pressy to myself. Will definitly fit the riders back rest (solo rider), and no doubt the stage one set up, and the gaurds. Do we ever stop spending money on our bikes? Anyway, who care's, can't take it with you, so enjoy it before you hit the finish line! Again, love the bike and the channel brother. All the best from Australia.;

I bought my Heritage as a present to myself when I was getting ready to turn 65. I had never owned a Harley-Davidson and just wanted one. I have not been disappointed. I think you will love it. I did spend a lot of money adding things but it was all for the better. I’m retiring in a few months and Australia is on my list of places I want to go and ride. I’m looking forward to exploring your great country. Thanks for your military service and thanks for watching my ramblings! Ride safe.

I love the bike setup, I also have a 2018 Heritage In a 107 you can’t go wrong with this bike. If I could offer a couple of suggestions… 1. Motorcycle Drop Guards they go on the engine guards (crash bars) they give an extra layer of protection and are easy to install. They cost about $350 In the event you do resell the bike they help the resell value if you ever did drop the bike. 2. The phone mount I see you have on the bike I would replace, I had something similar and dropped my phone twice at high speed. I recommend Rokform mounts. The mounts run about $120 The car runs about $45 of the don’t have a matching case the universal adapter costs $20 and it does work. I used the universal adapter for about 3 years before upgrading my phone. 3. Last I would check out ClearWater Lights. I will admit they are pricey but worth it. Those lights put out more light than your headlights and they are adjustable. I run them at about 20% power normally. When I hit the horn or high beams they go full power. Just my thoughts, either way your bike is a beautiful bike enjoy your ride. Jeff

And I know that for sure when I dropped it in my driveway the first day I owned it. Tried a tight slow speed u-turn and it didn’t go well. Had to get a neighbor to help me pick it up. I couldn’t do it by myself with it laying flat on the pavement. The crash bars went on very shortly after that. They should be stock on any larger touring style motorcycle. I guess HD doesn’t consider it a touring bike. Thanks for watching!

I bought a 23 heritage 3 months ago, and I absolutely love it!! I just put new exhaust on it, and it’s changed the ride so much for the better. I went the cheap route and put a $300 set I got off Amazon, just to see what it’d do… and damn!!! I’m not a fan of the saddlebags, they look too cookie cutter, or cheap, but other than that, and maybe different wheels, just depending on your style, I wouldn’t change a damn thing about the bike. I also have a Mustang touring seat without the driver backrest. Thinking about getting one. And I put the engine and saddlebag guards on. And I agree, it’s the perfect bike for me. Yes. Standard height. That’s the better choice if you want to use it to attach a bag to.

They are Harley accessories I ordered right from their website. Passenger back rest is a must if you carry a passenger and the luggage rack/grill thing will hold a pretty big bag for trips. Thanks for watching!

What do you think of the Heritage for a new rider? I'm retired 6'3" 215-220 or so.
@GARamblinMan
@GARamblinMan 3 күн бұрын
It’s a little big and powerful for a brand new rider, but with your size, I think you would adjust quickly to it. I would just take it easy at first and practice especially slow speed maneuvers. Any smaller displacement starter bike is going to be really small and uncomfortable for you. Good luck!

Did you install the crash bars?
@GARamblinMan
@GARamblinMan Жыл бұрын
The dealer put the front ones on as part of my deal to buy the bike and they also instdltge rear ones when I took it in for its yearly oil change. I don’t think it’s too difficult to do yourself if you have the proper tools. You do have to remove the passenger pegs and reinstall them after connecting the rear crash guard.

Both directly off the Harley-Davidson website. I figured genuine HD parts would be best.

They are great bikes, but the price is slowly getting into the mid $20K range for this model with the bigger touring motorcycles going for more than $30K. Getting a little too much for my liking especially since everyone tends to add a lot of accessories. I spent close to $5K in upgrades on mine.

I pulled my hamstring in my left leg while backing my RGL into a parking spot. I dropped my bike and needed help picking it up because my leg hurt so bad. Im glad I had engine guards on it. The week before put new 4.5 in. exhaust on it. No scratches on my pipes, primary or bags. I found zero damage caused by the drop.

The engine guards are essential in order to pick up these heavy HD motorcycles. I dropped my Heritage when it was brand new before I installed the engine guards in my driveway and could not pick it up since it was laying flat. I hurt my back trying to do it by myself and had to get a neighbor to come help me. Luckily it didn’t have any scratches since it was just a super low speed tip over. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. Ride safe!

Jeff
