I made up some cheap and easy roads for miniature wargaming using EVA foam, peel and stick tiles, and some craft paint. Each one only took about 5-10 to make (without drying times).

Is there a way to just paint a realistic roads for diorama straight on the cardboard and just paint it realistically instead of needing anything at all?
@TerrainbyAaron8 ай бұрын
@@eddydu490 maybe throw some really fine sand into a black mi of paint that would give texture. Other than that I just use Vallejo's tarmac paint. It was 10 euros from Amazon

You can paint pretty much any detail on a flat surface. It's really just preference of materials and time. Stippling goes a long way.

Brilliant work! I had a bunch of extra craft foam and was wondering what to do with it.

Those came out nice! Gonna need to practice my flicking-objects-to-paint-them technique.

Thanks! It's all in the wrist and tearing a small hole in time and space. Occasionally a tiny eldritch horror escapes but that's the price we pay for instant paint jobs I suppose .

Have you tried using vinyl tile with the finished side up to make roads? (if it's glue-back tile, you can put paper on the back. Dry-back tile doesn't need any backing) I bought a bunch of cheap tile and want to try it. I think it *ought* to work, but I might have to sand some of the gloss off to get the primer to stick.

I have. It's... okay. I feel like it's really close to working, but it is just a tad off. I'd say give it a go. The worst is that you flip it over and try something similar.

Does cork damage rubber tires? Weird question I know, but it wluld suck to roll cars around and it just either messes up the cork, or the paint messes up the wheels

As long as you're not pressing down as hard as you can, I don't forsee any problems either way.
