that pre sbackle prime really helped my visual understanding of this project! Like, i was able to see how certain surfaces were too busy, and the gaps themselves that are otherwise hard to parse on a 2d screen, which in real 3d life are probly easy to spotIf it isn't a problem from you, i think it is a good practice to hold onto as you make more videos.

Incredibly inspiring, thank you! So, I saw the secret message at 08:25. The rust sauce is: spackle, mod podge (or pva), matt medium, sand (non homogeneous in size), sodium bicarbonate, and dark brown paint? I love the idea of stippling that as an undercoat for a later greenish fine coat, will try it!
@ScratchBashing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Mostly right on the recipe there. It's acrylic varnish, not medium. I use varnish because once it dries/cures it can't be re-hydrated by subsequent paint layers. Same goes for Mod podge, it is more resilient than PVA against re-hydration.

What do you use to prime this kind of plastic? I made some terrain a little while ago using various bits, but also some thick plastic "re-useable" drinking straws. My primer really did not stick to those pipes at all. I ended up using AK interactive primer and microfiller on those pipes which actually worked great, but that stuff cannot be thinned/cleaned with neither airbrush thinner nor turpentine and it clogged my airbrush, so I had to ruin a brush. It would be great to have some kind of spray can that I can use on all kinds of materials for quick and strong priming.
