Very fine craftsmanship. You should include the amount of time taken to complete one and a ballpark price range on how much it will be to commission one of these blades from you.
@ethanzimmerzimmerlabs8235 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! I always appreciate compliments. As far as time to completion, it really varies. I would say that it takes between 50 and 100 hours to build one like this. But you know how it goes. Some days are smooth, and I find all the different aspects of building just flying by. But then other days, I may have to spend a full 8 hours on one single aspect of a build, repeating it over and over because I can't seem to get it exactly right. Then of course, there's the question of how novel the creation is. If it's a lightsaber i've built before, with no major changes or revisions, it's likely to go much faster. But if it's a first time build, or a build that i'm substantially changing from previous versions, the amount of time that goes into it can be much longer. I'm also guessing that when you asked about blades, you meant the entire lightsaber, not just the blade?
@MASTERDARKSIDE25 жыл бұрын

@ethanzimmerzimmerlabs8235 жыл бұрын
of course it affects the weight and balance. But that's really not important because the blade can be weighted to counterbalance it. And no, this is not a dueling lightsaber. neopixel lightsabers, and anything that has precious metals inside of it is not designed to be dueled with.

@2gub45 жыл бұрын
@@Fringe13 you are right, thx
@AvengerII5 жыл бұрын
Definitely's Obi-Wan's hilt. The differences from Luke's ROTJ hilt 1) Obi-Wan's has black on the "grenade" grip; Luke's is all polished aluminum/titanium/whatever metal he used to fashion the hilt from. Luke's "Hero" hilt has no anodized/painted parts on it; it's all-natural finish. 2) the only time Obi-Wan's classic hilt has gold on it is on the stem/neck of the emitter in Revenge of the Sith. During his exile on Tatooine, that stem gets tarnished or perhaps traded in (for cash as a valuable metal? Who knows what it's made of!). If we take the pictures of the props as accurate (and not just changes between films because of different prop makers and Lucas' finicky nature/desire for changes to justify merchandising "new designs"), that hilt was altered during the 19 years he spent in exile. 3) Luke's ROTJ hilt, at least the Hero version of it (used for publicity photos and close-ups, especially the examination by Vader on the Walker gantry on Endor), has a nipple at the end of the emitter head. Obi-Wan's classic hilt does not have this feature. Note that there were AT LEAST 3 different variants of Luke's ROTJ lightsaber seen in that film. The version R2 shot out of his dome clearly HAD NO NIPPLE on the emitter head and was more like Obi-Wan's lightsaber (since it was likely a reuse of the stuntsaber Alec Guinness used in the original Star Wars movie!). The version used on the gantry scene on Endor was the "official Hero version" used for publicity shots. Most reproductions and licensed versions of the ROTJ saber are modeled after this version including the infamous scene in TLJ. The third version with a "spiked screw" the handle and mottled/wearing off black paint job on the handle can be seen in The Emperor's Throne room resting on the handrests of his throne. The third version also has the nipple on the end of the emitter head. Master Replicas did licensed reproductions of the Second and Third version of Luke's ROTJ lightsaber hilt which I mentioned. The first, the "shared stunt hilt" which was also used in Star Wars/1977, has never been done as officially licensed merchandise but fans have reproduced it. It's made with generic parts (jet engine nozzle, grenade, Graflex parts) so LFL can't really sue anyone and be successful in court. They've tried to do that with prop makers reproducing the original hilts from the first Star Wars and those were all made from hardware antiques, mainly flashbulb holders. The first lightsaber prop that was machined and NOT modified from existing antiques was the Hero version of Luke's ROTJ hilt.
