Looking at your art upside down is so important and I wish more novice artists would take that one piece of advice with them! It’s so helpful

As someone who has been trying to sculpt for years and getting frustrated with perfectionism or wishing to jump ahead to details and texture- you make this look and sound so easy Nick...
@ModulusProps4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I definitely find myself jumping ahead too soon sometimes, but I've been learning to just let the sculpt exist in that "ugly" in-between stage before I really start dialing in the details.

Thank you for this video. I discovered Monster Clay and am using it to sculpt figures to animate on my cuckoo clocks. (The eagle in my avatar Old Glory Cuckoo Clock I sculpted large, then scanned and 3D printed it at the size I needed to be the cuckoo in the clock.) Learned a lot from this video, both tools and techniques that has boosted me up the learning curve. Again. thank you!

Such an excellent tutorial and explanation of the tools ! Now where do I get the clay warming box or is that just made at home ! Thx nick u rock
@ModulusProps2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The clay warming box is just a plain old storage box I found on Amazon. The model is no longer available but you can probably find something similar. I just layered the inside with insulation foam and mounted a light bulb socket in the back with a dimmer switch to control the heat.

Wow, incredibly informative video! Thank you so much! How much clay did you use for this particular sculpture?

When starting out with the mask could you not use foil or another material to build out the structure to save the monster clay and take away some weight?
@blainemurphy13514 жыл бұрын
Better make a molding and painting video of this piece. Nice sculpt. You can use baby powder and a brush and that will help with the tackiness the clay has.

I am just starting to jump into Monster Clay, inspired by your videos and collaborations with others, and I was searching for the Valdez rake that you used in your video and I seem to be unable to find the exact one. Would you mind telling me the model number? Thank you!
