You should get some CCTV cameras in the workshop that activates on motion, that way you have raw footage when you get zenned-out, just put it in the video in super speed for a nice timelapse :D Gives you some new angles for camera cuts too. Hey once again, lovin' it. I am actually doing a similar slatwall with floating shelves in my Living Room. Here in Germany, you can buy special floating shelf mounting brackets which are basically just metal "dowels" that are screwed onto the wall surface on one side and inserted into the floating-whatever on the other. How did you get such a good diffusion on your leds? I would not have thought that the diffuser itself (at least from what I saw of it) would have diffused everything so well. Excellent tip BTW regarding the washers and magnets. You can never overestimate the value of easy-access at a later date. One other tip that comes to mind, from one of my clients that is also constantly cutting wood... Basically all the sawdust from cutting and sanding is vacuumed to a pellet maker, which gives him an energy efficient source of heating for the winter months. As always I love watching your progress. Keep up the great work and take care.
@Lucidbkeo2 жыл бұрын
Funny thing is, those aren't even really diffusers, they're just lenses. They're not frosted at all. The trick is the style of LED strip used which is called an led COB, they can be bought as chips or strips. It's basically a bunch of tiny led's with some silicone poured over 'em to make a much more even looking light.
@bitluni2 жыл бұрын
Looking forward to each MM video. I'm happy you recovered and back to the renovation strong. The wall is beautiful. The magnet idea is perfect. Never trust LEDs to last 😄 especially the cheap sticky tape shipped with it. Wondering if you can get the COB strips with black solder mask.

It looks cool but what might be good for the next time is trying indirect lighting... by that I mean placing the LED strip either sideways instead of facing the tub or even behind some of the wood pieces you have so it faces the black wall (might be a nice project and even the solution to remove them by using magnets). You will end up with a much moodier room especially because it looks like it is a bright space already and well lit. Think of fancy hotel bathrooms and you'll get the idea. The LED is never facing you, it is either hidden away on a gap in the dry wall on the ceiling or behind a mirror. Looks cool either way!

As a professional kitchen and bath renovator, I can confirm that liquid nails will hold tile perfectly well for a very long time. Its the standard that a lot of tile guys in my city used to use and Ive torn it down more times than I can count. The issue with liquid nails is that during demo it will tear the drywall absolutely to hell before it comes off. Mortar lets you chisel tiles off the wall, liquid nails means you have to cut and patch the drywall most of the time.

Is the tape you are using at 16 minutes is a product from 3M, you're not going to have any problems. My place is about 500 ft of a bluff off of Puget sound, we get very powerful winds. I built a pergola out of stainless steel and double layer polycarbonate. I didn't have the hard to put any fasteners through the polycarbonate so I decided to use 3M double-sided extreme tape. I'm happy to report that despite one storm lifting the 500 lb pergola, and dropping it off of its verticals, we are going on 8 years without any loosening or other issues. I had some concerns about dog hair and pollen sticking to the edges of the tape, this has not been an issue at all. I'm in the rainforest, a very humid environment.
