Just found your channel and subscribed. Own a remodeling business and been getting into making custom stuff, are you able to reuse the material you use for forms?

Maybe if you did this again, you could add veining throughout it. Like have the canyon with the veining. Kinda like granite but gold. And I’d put a sheet of glass over the canyon part. As a table, having an open gap on the table top seem unpractical

It looks cool but I would definitely have a glass top or something. I'd be forever knocking stuff into the canyon otherwise

I have 4 plants with a reservoir. I have a pump that circulates water around them. In the summer I keep it about 76. I make a few extra gallons of the nutrients up and just freeze them in Tupperware. Then just drop one of them in each container. Keeps it plenty of cool. I am above a pump house so the ground can get cool. I actually use an aquarium heater to keep it at 70 when the lights aren’t on.

I loved the table ! I think i like it as it is with the gold canyons exposed and not filled with epoxy etc as some of the suggestions. Just like kintsugi, broken is beautiful. Loved this project

Dude... She looks like someone just woke her ass up and she's not happy about it. If that's what she always looks like, yeesh. That soul stare x.x Shot in the dark, you're optimistic, she's not. 8:46 "mind-boggling" and super cool! :))) 22:09 The roof is not nicely done. You shoul consider to put triangular wood beneath the roofing felt and sheet metal above it.

Probably should have used steam instead of water for the plywood. Also anchoring it first to the frame gave it a point of failure Also, pouring two layers of concrete on top of each other like that, especially when treated differently, wouldn't it risk them not adhering to each other properly and forming cracks with temperature and humidity?

There is a technique among gilders. If you really want the gold to pop first you lay down a coat of paint. The paint is called gilders red. And because the gold leaf is only one molecule, thick light will actually pass through it. Hit the red paint and reflect back with a very warm gold glow. You should try this on future projects. You would be amazed of the difference

Gold leaf is thin, but it is definitely not only one molecule thick.

I think this would be awesome with a floating glass top so you could use the whole area of the table. Looks awesome, though. I believe real gold leaf is yellower than the fake stuff, I think it looks fine as it it is 😊

Mike I challenge you to make one of your projects in a totally eco friendly way I.e. no epoxy no concrete no silicon no foam, I only say this because it was very in this project the only thing that was at all natural was the gold leaf, maybe have a thought about how using these materials have a lasting impact on the planet, we only have one of them.

Looks great. Probably needs a glass top for functionality's sake. Can't believe you're already closing in on a million, very well deserved! I remember when this channel was just some lawyer fiddling about in his tiny basement during his free time with those close observation of the su-purrr-visor, Karma Cat. That timelapse though showed how well Tex has filled the role as the su-pup-visor.

Love the idea, it's a nice contrast and great shape. Sorry to be the pedant in the comments, the lock washer goes against the nut :) But you don't really need one on something like this. A nyloc would be more effective if they do come loose.

I bet you could bend some old hangers to imbed into that foam... then dig underneath once you are ready to pull out the foam and you have as big a handle as you like. Hope that works! Cheers! BEAUTIFUL work. That is a table I would love to have. Shoot I would love a desk done that way!!! Brilliant!

yeah its looks ok, surprised it didn't have a final sealant of some sort over the gold... but honestly you should build one thats a slab with thin gold cracks running all through it, something more akin to real kintsugi. I reckon that would end up looking insane.
