Bella, thank you for your transparency. I have known other bi- or multi-racial women who have experienced an identity crisis or felt like neither ethnicity embraced them. I'm a black woman, but wear my hair natural as well. Even still it is challenging because as proud as I am of my curls, I still get very different reactions from both black and white people - it runs the gamut from being intrigued and in awe to being disgusted. People are so weird and ridiculous sometimes. Smh Happy to share hair care tips if you're ever interested!

My mom is white ( my dad is black) and she has the long straight hair and I wanted it for years and years!! My sis and brother are also white I was the only mixed one I never felt like I fit in.. Thinking my hair was ugly and not okay. I’m not 37 and am in love with how it looks so I understand completely where you coming from.

The thing about being biracial that makes us unique is that we get it from both sides. We are dismissed by the white community and also the black community if we voice our experience in any way shape or form.
