I have regular rs3. It has such strong springs as rs2 had. After magnetizing it with N52 4x1.5, my rs3 becomes very controllable. And no, it's not very strong magnets for this setup. Somehow they feels weaker than ones in gan356sm.

I ordered the cube and set it up just last week. After playing with it, I really liked the cube, due to me having a more relaxed turning style and the cube being amazing at corner cutting. This cube really hits me in the sweet spot, although I hoped that the magnets could be a bit stronger.

Guys, If you want an RS3m and already have an MF3RS2m then just swap out it's springs with weak ones. Voila! It behaves exactly like an RS3m. I personally experimented with the weak springs from my older MF3RS and every aspect of my MF3RS2m behaved just like the RS3m. It did get a lot faster though but the pieces jiggled around a lot more, weak magnets didn't help much and yes, just like J, my average was worse as well:) The MF3RS2m is definitely better than thr RS3m, hands down!

Nice review! I agree that RS3 is more similar to GTS2 than RS2. Unlike RS3 and RS2, which use linear, relatively strong springs, RS3M uses non-linear springs which comprise a half weak part and a half strong. I understand that Moyu might think that magnets can share the burden of stability with springs, but those weak parts are way too weak like most Yuxin cubes. Moyu gts2 and mf3rs series generally have bad corner cutting, since the centre screw insert is too narrow and it hits a screw head before springs compress fully. Hmm, but I don’t understand why your RS3M has better corner cutting than GTS2M because both share the same springs and similar centre piece inner designs, so it should be similar with similar spring tensions. Anyway, I really like watching your insightful review and solving tutorial series. Thanks.
@JPerm5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your insight as well! Ive never looked that far into cube design so this is all new to me, but I have had 2 gts2's in the past that both have worse corner cutting on varying screw settings, while the rs3m corner cuts this much on 2 different screw settings so I think it is just better at corner cutting somehow
@lindenbaum94485 жыл бұрын
J Perm Yeah, it can be. I also felt GTS2 has worse corner cutting than RS3, but I just thought, that’s because I strengthened RS3 magnets right away; hence weaker tension and better corner cutting. I will try the factory RS3M. (I guess, the magnet strength is almost the same as GTS2M, isn’t it?) Or the newly designed RS3’s centre piece might work to improve corner cutting as Moyu advertised. Anyway, thanks for the reply!

I currently main the ys3m, but i always had the feeling that with some decent magnetisation it would become good (as my country didnt have the service back then). I'm planning to get some 4x2s. I might decide to main this, as it is just so good even without magnetisation. While turning relaxedly, i would get sub average times. on a non magnetic cube too. Very odd. Also i kinda ruined the speed by running it dry for too long haha, so its controllable.

I just recently got the RS3M, and I don't really have the issue with the freedom for the pieces to jiggle around. Maybe it's because I have it set to tight tensions, or that I just kinda turn slower than you, but try tightening it.
