2549 have a warmer sound, better low freq response, 2534 have a brighter tone, a bit edgy, better high freq extension than 2549, but personally i prefer 2549, more relaxing

@P T You are right, in part, the cable alone does not play everything depends on the system, for example, if the system is fast and analytical, then 2549 will balance the timbre. But if you put such a high cable 2534 in a similar system, then it will not be able to add anything except sharpness and dryness. This is not a statement, but just one way to explain it to you. I do not dispute the tastes preferences and ears of all of us are different)))). Good sound to everyone.

2534 promotes a fuller middle but at the expense of the higher frequencies. By comparison, the 2549 is more full range. The texture of the 2534 is warm but not as resolved, it rolls off the leading edge of the attacks.

My experience with the mids on 2534 is similar. I don't like how crunchy they sound compared to 2549.

@@masocre that's due to the guitar player mate, 2534 sounds fuller and has more fidelity.

@@mertk.3386 what speakers do you use to determine that? I did an A / B on Neumann monitors and 2534 did not sound good to my and other engineers ears while the 2549 was the obvious neutral and more transparent choice out of the two.

@@masocre Thanks for the reply. I found a better option which is far better than 2549 in terms of being the most neutral and transparent cable: Oyaide PA-02 V2 I compared it with 2549 side by side from my recording device. 2549 lacks a lot of low-end imaging, width, resolution and density, and I believe it’s not the best transparent and neutral cable on the market currently. Highs and lows are highly rolled compared to Oyaide PA-02, which leaves the midrange alone. I highly prefer Japanese made Oyaide’s 102SSC technology.

This video does not make much sense to me. The author does not mention where in the audio chain the cable is used. As an instrument cable? That would be rather strange as the typical for instrument would be Mogami 2524 - i.e. only 2 conductors and unballanced. If he uses 2534 or 2549 as an instrument cable, then even if the cable is balanced (i.e. 3 conductors (paired in 2534 though) then the guitar is unable to send unbalanced signal so the whole point is useless as the final connection become unballanced, doesnt it. The 2524 I mentioned earlier is made for instruments, so I would expect it has better shielding and overal properties in the unbalanced conditions, so expect it to be a better choice over 2534/2549. If the autho uses with DI box and changing to balanced signal (for longer length lead), then such test would make some sense, but who knows where is uses it :-D
