You really think that is why? There is a lore reason for it. Traveler is always acquiring the leftover authority from the amount HP didn't take when the power was taken from the dragons (PO not wanting the Archons to be strong enough to band together and overthrow them most likely is the reason not all was taken). Even when Focalors gives Neuv back the hydro authority she can only give back what she possesses and Traveler has the change. Just so happens Focalors had a better extraction than Buhr or Haborym and thus a bigger share of power, probably owing to the extremely corrupted state the Pyro and Dendro sovereigns were in when they were defeated and their power stolen. Much of their elemental authority having turned abyssal (which MC is naturally able to purify) made it so a smaller amount was obtainable by PO. The Hydro sovereign died prior to being so thoroughly corrupted. The reason the Geo traveler has utility but no real "power" is because Morax... same goes for Beelzebul and Barbatos, the only 3 Archons left from the Archon war (even if Beelzebul wasn't technically a whole archon at the time) and the only ones who directly acquired the Authority from PO (or possibly never lost it to anyone, even PO in one of their cases, not 100% on that though). TL;DR Hoyo makes or loses nothing by HMC being weak when DMC was so strong anyways. They won't sacrifice story for that, they aren't Bioware. The only people who care about little power variances like that are f2p players, and if Hoyo can't convert you to dolphin or whale then your job is done. Enjoy your free game but don't expect a whole lot of attention.

this has been a thing since Hydro Traveler release. TarzBlammo did a video on Hydro Traveler that went over the history of the tech a little bit. apparently most people didn’t know about it because it was only possible as a niche interaction with bloom cores. (which is like.. fair. who the hell was playing hydro traveler as a bloom carry lol) hopefully it doesn’t get patched! it’s one of the only ways Hydro Traveler can get damage out 😂 edit: Moga i love ur videos btw, this is not shade at all. thanks for showing this niche interaction to a big portion of the western community! you rock :)

It'll probably get patched, there was something similar with Xingqiu a long time ago that got fixed pretty quickly. I guess they ignored this because lanterns were a limited item from long before hydro traveler existed, but now that you can buy tons of them... They don't even need to change Traveler, just put a short cooldown on using lanterns, it doesn't make sense that you can release 100+ at once and cause massive lag.

Lol yes, it seems there is a break point in between 20 and 50 where 1 Xiao latern increases ping by 1ms. You can even see it in the @dhcwsp clip, ping increases by like 200ms.

You don't need Xiao lanterns. You can do this with Dendro Cores and thus it's a lot more legit. Like Traveler will do a lot of damage, but since you'll only have like 6 or 8 cores at most it will be more reasonable, but also usable in Abyss, Domains, and Events. And it's just a very sane amount of damage. Like a real rotation you could think of doing.

I run into it all the time during Imaginarium Theater (but never Abyss), and it's been present during certain Local Legends who use the totems too. Something about those areas makes the game lag a bit more than usual, and while generally not noticeable unless you're looking for it, I imagine the addition of the xiao lanterns is making it much more pronounced, which is why it wasn't working.

I think you need to be on traveller when you release lanterns so you can burst the second you release lanterns. Switching chars after lanterns gives them too much time to float away.
