Yep, no advertising that I have seen in the market I am in, literally almost nothing as far as getting the Poshmark brand out there, and with the IPO and that it is a publicly-traded company, do not like that they are holding funds longer, very small but seriously do they not think we are smart enough to know they are /can make a profit from holding our funds for a few days? That is a bit disturbing, already bad enough we are waiting 3 days to 4 days for "acceptance" when many shoppers do not come back after purchase and just go on w life, running to the app to rate or accept is the last thing on most peoples minds - if I had to run to amazon after every delivery to accept, well you get the picture.

My only concern with eBay is the purchase and wear it, and return it, buyer, have had that happen many times--- with clothing that has been an issue especially with statement pieces or formal wear. It is obvious so I try to use eBay for hard goods because of that.

@mogibeth how do you know what your active listings are at the beginning of 30 days and calculate your sells through rate on that; when the daily task of a reseller is to list daily? How can you base a number off the amount you have at the beginning of the month, when you could be selling an item you listed on the 26th of that same month? I watched this video a couple times and finally picked up on "average listings a month" in your scenario 😆 Figures, lots of info at once, but you're great at dispensing it all. With Poshmark, I guess I have to email myself their inventory report and count how many items I had listed and remember to look at my sales to see if there were any that should be considered per month (because they remove it from your inventory completely). Or is there an easier way to do this?

Thank you, Beth, for such an informative video! I'm definitely in pitfall 3 right now. My closet is growing but the sell through rate is about 5-6%. I've only been consistent since September, regularly listing new inventory and sharing and I see regular sales but not nearly as many as I'd like to have. I'd like to think this is a natural progression of the reselling business.

Zero sales days used to bother me but now that I average much more than 1 sale per day, I look forward to the occasional "zero day" because that's a non-Sunday day in which I don't need to deal with packages/shipping and can instead focus on other parts of my business or even enjoy a lazy *gasp* day with my boyfriend. But I still want to increase my sales avg and my next goal is to average 10 per day so I'll be "scaling" your tips for that goal 😊

I have at least 300 items in my closet that do not support my new business model. Should I get rid of them quickly (donate or sell in another way) or should I keep them there? I am growing my business and have been stuck on this question because I know the higher amount of listings means I have more sales, but, those items are not the same (Low COG's) as my current items I'm sourcing. Again, thanks so much for all you offer and share with us!

Do you ever give up on an item as unsellable? Or, do you use keep resisting, or lowering the price until it finally sells?
@MadelineTheFashion3 жыл бұрын
As a reseller I'm happy to give you my opinion. Just like any other retailer would (including brick and morter) I would suggest if an item isn't selling after 90-120 days and its only worth $10 or so ($7 after poshfees) is it really worth your time to share and store it? If not, I'd suggest taking a bagful of items that don't sell to a consignment shop and seeing if you can get some cash, or credit to trade for item(s) that you think are likely to have more value on poshmark. Hope that helps.

@@kellykaren7166 what do you do if you dont mind sharing?
@kellykaren71663 жыл бұрын
@@MadelineTheFashion I usually reevaluate items after a year of being listed. I sell a great deal of vintage so that sits but it's fine because when someone buys it they pay for it. I can't source the kind of things Mogi sources because of where I live and I also have another profession (NOT a 9 to 5 job) so I am not going to spend hours trying to find new designer luxury items; it's actually NOT a good business model for me to do that. I can source a lot of good vintage in FL, and I cross post as well, sometimes I take new photos and create a new listing. For modern items if they don't sell for a year I reduce the price and if that does not work I donate it.
@MadelineTheFashion3 жыл бұрын
@@kellykaren7166 thanks so much! I love to hear other resellers business models. Mogis business model wouldnt work for me either, I almost exclusively source at the bins. Luckily, where I live (pittsburgh pa) I do find great stuff there on a regular basis. You are more patient than me gf, 6 months and I'm donating or trading it, altho I know you're correct that vintage is slower to move (unless it's a recognizable brand like Polo). If you don't mind 1 more question, do you use a service like list perfectly to cross post? If yes, which one? I'm about to cross post but I need to pay an expert
