This has to be the one of the greatest V-ray (or any post production) video I've came across.

Definitely more! Showing some of the add on macros you get from Reactor and which ones you like the most. Also ways of tracking in footage to a moving shot (saw smoke or dust), how to add film grain, camera lens fx (like dirt on a lens) Essentially ways to completely get out of After Effects pipeline. Keep up the amazing tutorials!

it is amazing how powerful this node base system is in fusion, and the fact that its free! the workflow is totally different from adobe layer system, i remember hearing that Nuke is node based but i didnt know what is it till now, its like grasshopper for rhino but more complex

Thanks for this great video! One question remains - how to render several cameras in batch rendering so that all vray render elements are saved in one exr file? standard batch render doesn't do this. it only saves one beauty pass inside exr without rendering elements.

Absolutely need more By the way can we save the nods composition we have done except the colour correction for specific object and apply it to another exr file

Good tutorial, thank you for that. I am a retouch and cgi artist and working with Photoshop and 3dsmax, why you using Fusion for a picture and not Photoshop? Is it better for renderings or better workflow? Thank you!

Wondering the same. I can't see advantages in Fusion over PS for still renderings

Great video! I'm coming from photoshop for post processing... I know the benefits that a real compositor offers but man I'm finding it a difficult transition!

Hello. As I'm also coming from Photoshop for compositing, would you care to point me to the right direction on that "Photoshop vs Real compositor" subject. Can't seem to find a starting point. Why shouldn't someone use Photoshop for compositing of stills?

Thanks a lot for that. Can you please make one on achieving great DOF in post ? Been using frischluft in AE but keen to find a good workflow in Fusion now.

instead of channel boolean node, even the merge node does the same in adding passes right? anything special with channel boolean node?
@TechVideoStack4 жыл бұрын
You could use the 'Vignette' node, to achieve the vignetting effect much quicker!

Hi, are you using th Cryptomatte from Reactor? Im following your tutorial and im having different colors in Cryptomatte to yours. Is that Normal? or we should have the same colors because it coming from same source EXR. TYIA

Not sure why, but my lighting pass is coming out black in Fusion (not in V-Ray, it's fine there). I am using my own scene though, not the one you are using for the tutorial. Thanks for the video, it's very informative.

Fantastic video and thank you. I find this composition method so slow compared to the speed of AE and PS it doesnt seem worth to switch to fusion or nuke. I see the possibilities in the node based workflow but still... positioning the nodes, zooming, connecting them, panning zooming again this is just too slow

Great video, exactly what i've been looking for! wow those crypto mattes are amazing! I'd be looking to use fusion for animation, but i do like how i can comp up a still, and maybe send that back to photoshop, to avoid having to re comp whenever i have to update a render. Also... I'd like to know more about dealing with multiplied images, ie an image with an alpha, and replacing the background. I'd love to know how to add an HDRI sphere and comp that in an animation. as mentioned in other comments, DoF, Lens flares, essentially optical flares for fusion. keying in fusion would be good. lastly... I know this is fusion studio, but how do you use the davinci resolve fusion tab, and pipe that back to the edit tab?! A lot to ask lol! Thank you for kick starting my fusion learning. Seriously good video!
@WizardVal2 жыл бұрын
You don't need to re-render your file to update it- that is where the unlimited power of fusion comes. Volume mask, working in 3d space... add lights change backgrounds whatever... Photoshop is a very limited tool in this respect. If you have set up all your composition and all your layers correctly then whatever your client will change you just open Fusion and tweak your composition, change the diffuse colour of your objects and you immediately get a result without rendering hours to see the result. This video really does not even scratch the surface it is just making an introduction to a world of expertise. Good start!
