"Sad songs remind me of friends." I miss my friends. From high school. From college. From grad school. From various jobs. I hate how life slowly carries you away from the people you want to be with.

I don't know you u brother. But I feel the smell of your 2002 room, I feel it and it backs me up to how and what I became. Big hug bro..this feeling doesn't have n age. Here we became wht we r. No retreats. Just now I am laying down on my bed listening to this song with a beautiful human being closed to me. There r no ways to describe what we feel , we people from the 90's

My best friend in the world died last week, his name was Cody. Our favorite song we used to listen to late at night before bed time was Close Encounters by Mogwai, while reminiscing of old time i started researching the band. They have an album called Come On Die Young, released the day before my friends birthday :( And the lyrics are way too fucking real.

Words cannot express the raw human energy this makes me create. It makes me want to do this human existence over again. So much I could have made right to make this life better, I could have turned this planet of souls into a better place for them to exist until they move on. I hardly know what I'm saying, but it's what came out.

This band started a never ending adventure. This style of music made me branch off and discover many artists and their songs that I may have never been aware of. I've traveled many miles and visited many places listening to my playlist. Mogwai may not be the main bad I listen to, but they started a movement within myself.. and for that I thank them.
@Blueswailer8 жыл бұрын
Couldn't have said it better myself. Mogwai was the first instrumental-based(even though this and an assortment of their other songs has vocals) post-rock band I started listening to, back when, as a teenager. Still one of the main ones, but it opened the doors for me to find a grand assortment of other bands in a similar vein. They started a movement indeed.

3 years later and I still cry for the one I lost in highschool. Of all the things I would say to her now, the first would be, I love you. Never let yourself get in the way from saying what your heart wants to. It takes someone passing for us to realize we should never fear of straying outside of acceptable social boundries. This is life man, live how your loved one couldn't, with their death comes your responsibility. Seize the day and always cry once and a while.

When I was down, I would listen to this at a lowly whispering volume, half curled up in a ball on my childhood bed, with the album playing on loop for nights on end.
