Cave/Ellis - Carnage is a masterpiece but the mighty Mogwai shade it for me on Album of the year stakes. I think, though, if I was from Melbourne - Cave/Ellis would shade it for me. We're all patriots at heart (aren't we!?fuck knows...) And I know we should be impartial on such matters bt I'm locked up in ma fucking hoose so gimme a break man. The difference is that Nick Cave's finger still points in every direction, from the Old Testament to Southern Gothic to explicit murder. While Mogwai point their fingers toward the future and have never allowed them to sway, not even in hurricane bawbag ffs. Canni wait to hear it live. And one thing, the 'shhhhhh crew' - everyone gets it noo, one single 'SHUT THE FUCK UP' is clearly more useful than 100 'shhhhhs'. OK, said ma piece, Adios Amigos and Friend's of the Night!

Definitely CODY and HSFHP; the latter if only because it's unfocused despite having some GOATs on it.. *Hot Take:* _Hardcore Will Never Die.._ is horrifically underrated and one of the better "middle-era" albums, if not the end of the middle era.
