One of the most beautifully haunting songs I've heard in my life.

Absolutely. Knowing the story behind it after researching the lyrics got my blood boiling to an extent. Those poor men dependent upon egotistical sociopaths RIP

Beautiful song, albeit brings tears to the eyes when you are focusing on the lyrics.

For real. Always a shite way to learn one of your favorite tunes is morbid as it comes. Faith in govt agency who cares not for the life of the cog in the machine

this song was written about the sinking of the Russian submarine, K-141 Kursk in the Barents Sea on August 12, 2000 Who might know of this? The notes we left Our final thoughts And we knew they'd get us out Sink, sink Drowned by her country Old, and she Is cursed and forgotten Never to surface again The air runs out The captain's first So we take to memories And layers of clothes Up there the family waits Outside we heard hammers Noises sound like the end And we will never see them Sink, sink Drowned by our country Dead, and she Is cursed, old and rotten Never to surface again

I hear it now you've mentioned it as always with mogwai the harmonization's far more complex but there's certainly a similarity in the intro guitar
