Talat ji is my favourite singer. I met him at ashoka hotel on 9 september 1979 for tribute to .Mohmmad Rafi. He was so beautiful n generous. I shook his hand . His hands were very soft. He was very humble n had no ego. His son Khalid Mahmood followed with him. He is so polite to every body n sung the songs demanded by people sitting over there. I also demaded so many songs n he fulfilled my choice. Nobody can be like him. I miss him too much. I am die hard fan of talat ji and will be up to my last breath.

I had also the opportunity to hear talatji at kamani auditorium new Delhi in 1971 or 72.He had no ego was smiling and down to earth polite.I requested him to sing sub kuch luta ke hosh mein song and sang it.He also commented that it is one among his personal favorite songs.I am a huge fan of him.Every time I play his song mohobbat tark ki mein ne tears come out and I salute him his voice and his simplicity.

"Parchhai" was the first movie of V. Shantaram for which C. Ramchandra scored music. CR accepted the movie as a "Honour ' from great. VS. CR put one condition to VS, that Lata will sing all female songs instead of Rajashree, wife of VS. He agreed. Now VS put one condition to CR. He said, Talat will sing all songs instead of" Chitalkar "i.e. C.Ramchadra. So we got this memorable song of Talat Mehmood Sab. Sab.

C. Ramchandra is a composer who is just above many of his contemporaries. His compositions are tragically lost for reasons only that he largely maintained a true classical style. Pity he was never awarded with a lifetime trophy by the Hindi motion picture federation, if I'm not mistaken. Pls update me if it be so.

A great singer and a great human being. I met him at his residence in Bandra as his FAN . He did not allow me to feel that I was a common man. Though I was with my bother- in law Sh.
