This is the third time that I cry when I hear Master's voice and see your sincere feelings. His voice, art, and techniques are not common things even in Iran. And what makes this performance even more amazing is doing it at this age. because of your kindness to us, and your lovely Persian speaking as well as touchy feelings towards the Iranian traditional music Artworks, I decided to compensate a little bit and share with you the meaning of this piece of Saadi words. (Saadi is one of the greatest poets in the history of Iran.) At 7:34 He says: "har ke del-aaraam deed az delash aaraam raft" del=heart aaraam= lull, peace, calm, combining these two words makes the word "delaaraam", which means: Someone who brings peace to the heart. Or simply the "Beloved" person. ("delaaraam" is also a beautiful Iranian name for girls!) Now the meaning of this part: whoever saw his\her beloved(delaaram), the peace(aaraam) came out of his\her heart... And this is a beautiful and delicate poetic contradiction. Because we expect "delaaram" to bring "aaraam" into our heart, not take it out! To understand it, Imagine a situation where you see your lover but you cannot be with him\her and this separation burns your heart and deprives you of peace. See how he expresses the sadness of this poem in his voice. this meaning, along with his nostalgic voice and your great emotions to it, brought tears to my eyes. I wish I could explain all the poems to see that some of the great but hidden artists in this performance are actually Poets! I'll try to continue with small parts under this comment!

At 13:39 He says: "Derakht-e gham be joonom kerde reesheh" "Be darghaahe khoda naalom hameesheh" "azizoun! ghadr-e yek dighar bedouneed" "ajal sang-ast-o aadam mesle Sheesheh." -The tree of sorrow is rooted in my soul… -(That is why) I always cry to God -Dear ones! do appreciate each other... -(because) the death is stone and human is like glass… It seems that the poet has lost someone close to him and has become very sad because of this separation. So he advises us to know the value of each other because death can easily separate us…

Dear Krizz, this is a performance done due to NPR's invitation. The great maestro Mohamadreza Shajarian is one of the 50 greatest voices of all time according to NPR. He is in his 70s in this video. Most of his best songs belong to his 40s.

In original Iranian music, instruments and songs interact in such a way that they can convey the meaning of a poem to the listener. Iranians have been able to be very deep in the meaning of love and its stages. Many lovers expressed their perception of love in poetry, and even some of them, like the Rumi, when love erupted in them, involuntarily expressed those truths in poetry and their disciples wrote them down. Rumi composed about 26,000 verses of poetry in this state, which were recorded and collected by his student named Hesamuddin. One of my fortunes has been that Farsi is my native language and I have been able to spend a lot of time in the romantic thoughts of people like Hafez, Saadi, Rumi and dozens of other Iranian poets and give meaning to my life.
