30:30 brother hijab missed the point of the sister's question. It's a very important question. She was saying that how can a person of the calibre (in terms of piety ) of Ahmed bin hambel would just say anything and so how can a common Muslim choose who is right among those four highly intellectual and high calibre scholars of the Ummah. Now Hijab just directly addressed her question by reiterating what he had already iterated. However, i think he should have clarified further. In the answer of this question lies a great wisdom : the usool of fiqh = is piety enough to be a mujtahid ? No ! Piety is one of the prerequisites but what is more important is Competence in using all the God given senses to solve a problem of the fiqh. You see not all the four great scholars were competent in using all the God given senses. This is where i would highlight Prophet Muhammad's PBUH hadith : "transefer my hadith even if you don't understand it, the other person might understand its meaning better than you" A question was asked to Abu Hanifa r.a regarding the chains of hadiths and he said : why does it matter soo much ? unlike the brothers from ahlul hadith who completely diregard minor zaef hadiths, Abu hanifa had an attitude : Even some dhaeef hadiths could be used in fiqh. And so it all matters on "firasah" of the great scholar and firasah of the common Muslim to identify the right solution. "Fear from the firasah of a mo'min because he sees through the Light of Allah swt" ~ Prophet Muhammad PBUH I now think that if brother Hijab would have brought the topic of firsah in the conversation, things would have become complicated. However, he chose to answer with simple reiteration to make things simpler.
@Xenor9hhh10 ай бұрын
How will a common muslim choose who is more competent anyway He can only rely on whats apparent like good character and piety and follow the madhab of that sheikh.he doesn't need to do a comprehensive research on which of the 4 imams is most right.he or she as a layman just needs to follow someone who they trust and have knowledge and follow their madhab.this is what is expected of normal muslims unlike someone who wants to get into the high complex details.

How desperately are these kind of sessions from practising educated Muslims needed in Pakistan. Just recently, a 'religious' mob wanted to attack a woman because her dress had arabic writing (translated to beautiful) on it. Theu mistook it for quranic verses. Those people push away more people from religion, then guide them onto the right path.
@crazybird78610 ай бұрын
@SR-df9jd even if you are right, did you think the way the people in the mob acted was in line with the religious teachings of Islam? If such an incident had occurred at the time of Prophet Muhamned (pbuh)'s life, how do you think he would have advised his companions to tackle this situation? I don't think it would involve harassing or bullying.
@jassinsearchof10 ай бұрын
@@SR-df9jdAbsolutely correct 💯
@prowest671510 ай бұрын
@@SR-df9jdIt seems to me that daily reading of Quran is vital in building up those sensitivities. I too am amazed at how frequently those words and phrases you mentioned appear in Quran. It also explains why people who maintain their Quran reading become attuned to things islamically. The difference between those who recognise bahayai/fahashi and those who don't probably correlates with Quranic reading - even without understanding the process churns away. People who talk about no such thing as haya or fahashi are the least acquainted with Quran and Islamic teaching in general. Of course there is much more to being Muslim than just avoiding/detesting fahashi and behayai, but the Hadith on bahayai and "do as as you want" is telling of the inner state of such a person, and it should scare us all.
@user-op8fg3ny3j10 ай бұрын
@@SR-df9jdI still don't get why she was attacked? It wasn't anything criticising the deen
@crazybird78610 ай бұрын
@SR-df9jd so at what point, should these adult men be held responsible for their choices/actions? Or can we just keep passing the buck on, for the responsibility of their dangerous actions to the society, the country, the system etc..? In your response you suggested that if our Prophet was with us today, he would be persecuted by the authorities. Yet his is the example we are supposed to follow. Was he ever this harsh with people who even intentionally mocked the Quran ( and this debateable in the case of this woman - both whether it was intentional and whether it was mocking Islam). How did he treat women? Even the one who threw trash on him, or the one who decided to leave town without knowing who he was. That's my understanding of the kind of example we are meant to follow. He was also described as the walking Quran. So when you ask me to jot down the number of instances certain words are mentioned in the Quran , I think maybe also look at how in totality the practical implementation of the overarching message is reflected in the demeanor and seerah of our prophet.
