I have a question that has bugged me for a while and i just ignored it because couldn't find an answer to it. If Allah is all knowing, then he knows what we would do in our life with our free will, he would know this even before he created is, so he would know that he would create some people that would go to eternal hell because of their decisions and the environment they are born in, and in a way he caused them to go to hell because he created them and their environment in such a way that would cause them to go to hell. So why would he created them at all since he is merciful. I would want to believe that no one stays in hell forever but after some time they get out and go to heaven but i feel like there's too many verses in the Quran that prove they will stay in hell forever. Does anyone have an answer for this??

Salam alaikum. Maybe I could give some food for thought. Allah SWT has created humans with free will and a choice by means of which he does some things and refrains from others. But Allah SWT does not force a person to do evil, or to choose kufr, but Allah SWT clearly shows him the correct path for which He has sent Messengers and revealed Books, and shown him the right way. Whoever goes astray does so to his own loss as Allah SWT says in Quran “So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant) shall see it. And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant) shall see it” Allaah tells us that man believes and does righteous deeds by his own choice and free will, then he enters Paradise, or he disbelieves and does evil deeds by his own choice and free will, then he enters Hell.

Even if hell is not eternal, any atheist will tell you that the idea of anyone going into hell even for a second is barbaric nonsense. how long before you give up the idea of hell entirely? I'm sure if you were challenged by atheists you will soon say God is merciful and so the descriptions of hell are allegorical and hell is not an actual place. You will state that actually Ramadan is really unnecessary in the northern hemisphere as the days are too long.. You will say that 5 daily prayers are no longer valid in the modern world. thats the problem with you people. You have no bench mark or standard. You will throw everything under the bus. Even that little belief you hold to now, is not certain to be kept tomorrow.

Don't know if you are referring to Ibn Qayyim but he also himself took a soft stance that hell was not eternal. Both Yasir Qhadi (who did his PhD in Ibn Taymiyyah) and Omar Suleiman have said this in lectures.

You do not have to change Islam to defeat ISIS erroneous ideology. On all platforms speaking to the sympathizes you have to expose ISIS misinterpretation and changing of Islam. DSMNCIHAGT. Deeds are determined by personal niyah . The most Wise Allah s.v.a has preordained all what will happen and how it will happen. Human beings are responsible for their niyah regardless of the facts that All Knowing Allah s.v.a. knows what they will choose to do and He s.v.a decides what will happen and what will not happen. It is our personal choice, intentions and decisions ( niyah) that we are responsible for. So His s.v.a knowing doesn't take responsibility off us. Your good deeds are by your choice and with the help of Allah s.v.a. Your bad deeds are by your choice and with Allah s.v.a. allowing it to happen. Will the things which you choose to do ( good or bad ) happen or not that is not your responsibility ,Allah s.v.a. is the one who decides that. But your choice , intention and your decisions are your responsibility alone regardless of Allahs s.v.a knowing what you will choose and decide. Time limits : past, present, future , before, after, or any such thing do not apply to Allah s.v.a who i independent of anything, limitless, and perfect. Limits are there for us not for Him s.v.a.

Title is very misleading. Hijab doesn't grill him at all. It's a two-way discussion - mostly in which Hijab repeatedly interupts Adam whenever he's about to ask/make an interesting point. Clever, and very annoying, tactics from Hijab to steer away from an argument in which he losing ground. One example being where, when discussing Hijab's better approach to tackling a jihadi, Adam poses the scenario where the jihadi uses Hijab's own texts against him (the same texts which Hijab is relying upon to refute the jihadi). Very frustrating to see Hijab talk over, interrupt, and not allow that question to make ground.

You missed my point - which is what Adam was trying to make. What does he do, when the extremist starts quoting HIS sources back to him (to justify his extreme views). Like, the conversation will go: Hijab: "Here in Book X, it says this. Listen to this, because Book X is the truth" Extremist: "Okay, Book X elsewhere is also telling me to do this. So I'm okay to do it, right?" What does Hijab respond with?

Easy. Anyone who knows remotely anything about Jihadism knows that only 'jihadist scholars' support extremist interpretations. Majority of scholars (mainstream or otherwise) overwhelmingly refute those interpretations. All Hijab has to do is show them the huge body of both modern and ancient Islamic scholarship that unanimously disagrees with 'jihadism,' and that includes Abdul Wahhab the founder of Wahhabism. Hijab came away looking very strong and persuasive.

See, and that's where the discussion / debate needs to take place. I'd like to see the jihadist (I hate using that term - since it's used so incorrectly) and the traditionalist get to the knitty gritty, and scrutinise those texts which you guys hold so dear. The traditionalist saying "the majority of scholars refute this" is not good enough. Like, I would ask the traditionalist: "what do YOU make of this piece of text infront of us - not what some other scholar is saying". And Hijab didn't come away looking strong/persuasive. As usual, he was interrupting and talking over the other person.
