Trump running mate JD Vance's 'Islamist' comments about UK are 'caricature' - defence secretary

UK Defence Secretary John Healey has diplomatically described comments by Donald Trump's vice-presidential pick as "controversial".
JD Vance said last week that Britain under Labour could be the first "truly Islamist" country to have nuclear weapons.
Mr Healy also rejected the position taken by Trump's running mate on Ukraine - Mr Vance says he is not concerned about what is happening in Kyiv's war with Russia.

In the time since I have been back there have been 3 murders within a half mile radius of my home and one was just 20o yards away.
