You might have received a mildly alarming notification in your inbox lately letting you know that your loans are moving away from the MOHELA website. Some borrowers are actually keeping MOHELA as their servicer but getting a new web portal login. Other borrowers are losing MOHELA entirely.

I'm sooo sick of these transitions. Went from loans directly from the fed, to Nelnet, to Moehla, now back to the fed. My 3 years of PSLF payments doesn't seem to be accounted for yet in this new system, and I am NOT starting over. The incompetence of this whole student loan racket is insane.

Honestly not sure when I am do for IDR renewal since all the changes. May was 120 payments for me, but with the transition there is now the pause. Fingers crossed all goes smooth.

Of course all this would happen when I only got 12 more months of payments. I've been on PSLF since 2013. MOHELA already screwed me out of three payments.

And I thought them tacking on $1416.26 was terrible. I am writing letters, but what we need to do is sue them, but most of us cannot afford to, and the big four know that. I had Nelnet and no problems. Transferred to Mohela and it all went to SH--!

My wife is getting transferred from mohela to Ed financial. It was supposed to be done May 28th it's now June 13th and it still hasnt finalized her transfer. She's worried about losing a month of pslf credit because she can't make a payment. Any advice?

My loan is being moved from Navient to Mohela and I am on the IBR with a lot of interest not capitalized. Is there a chance Mohela will screw it up by capitalizing interest or screwing up my IBR?

I'm going through double consolidation and completed the first consolidation (currently at aidvantage and edfinancial). My final consolidation choices are mohela, edfinancial, and aidvantage. From your guides I would need to go to Mohela but with the current changes with aidvantage does that change how the double consolidation is processed? I was hoping to see nelnet in the options but it's not in there, maybe because that was my original servicer before I started the process? Thanks!

What will happen with accounts that have had the loans forgiven? Are those accounts being transferred, too?

I got a notice last summer from my direct loan saying my loans were being consolidated and my balance was now 0.00. Then I got a notice from Mohela saying they’re my new loan service provider and that my new interest rate was NINE PERCENT 😵‍💫 (the balance was not 0.00)! JUST got a notice from Mohela saying my loans had been forgiven - I don’t know what to think but I have the letter saying they’re forgiven so… 🥴🤷‍♀️😵‍💫

My loans were moved from Mohela to ED Financial. I was also in the situation where Mohela made me recertify my income prematurely, bumping my payments up. My payments were supposed to be adjusted back down by Mohela, andrecertification pushed to March 2025, and I was placed on administrative forbearance in the meantime. But now that I have transitioned to ED Financial, all that is going out the window, admin forbearance is ending, payments won't be adjusted back. Mohela didn't fix their mistake and ED Financial is going to honor their mistake instead of correcting it.

As of now no PSLF payments will be count because of the transfer. You will see all your payments after July 30. You people don’t read and be emotional with tantrum. Most of you are dumb.

What if I got a loan in 1989 for $700 and it's now over $22000 do to interest it slipped through the cracks and I've never really paid on this I really feel I shouldn't pay it back since it's way over 30 years old
