This is combination of traditional Persian music and new western theme of music and the lyrics is from a famous poet "Hafez" and it's about old Persian gnosticism which is a irreligious theme and it's more about wine (as a mean of reaching to the truth) beauty and being scarify for the reality. This is my personal idea. And I think Mohsen Namjoo is legend "The singer" and you can find more from him.

To Tell you the truth, I've never read any of hafez's works. For that reason, I have no right to compare him to others. However, I've heard a lot of people (iranians, specifically) saying that hafez is the greatest. I am not a specialist in literature, but as far as I know Hafez and Shekspear, in spite of being categorized in classics, are not comparable. Hafez is so Persian! and although you can find some universal values in his work, most of his work is mirror of Iranian soul and our paradoxical situation. I think Shekspear is more comparable with Ferdowsi's Shahname or even Nezami Ganjavi's work like "Khosrow o Shirin".

I'd like to ask Namjoo, when he was only a theatre student, developing his taste of music, if he was paying 12 dollars per CD to listen to Knopfler, Dylan or a hundred other musicians. I'd like to congradulate Namjoo, if he is unlike most other young Iranians, whom have thousands of downloaded mp3s( piracy)on their hard drive. KZbin is not a small contributor to Namjoo's fame. it is THE reason for his fame.
