I really had to go to the depths of hell to think of some of these traumatic money lessons 😭 should I make more financial vlogs or videos like this?? lmk + hope y'all enjoy and learn from my mistakes 😅

LOVED hearing these tips they were so relatable! I live in a HCOL in Canada so a lot of these experiences are shared, so many things we don't think about. I think my first grocery run moving out put me in the trenches because I did NOT realize buying all the basics that last a while, household items like TP and towels, added up SO fast. Making a budget has been so helpful, agreed so much with your tips/learning experiences!! would love more financial vlogs too , love your videos!

Thank you so much for this financial advice. The market right now is insane and as it gets warmer it’s hard to budget because you go out so much you want to enjoy the weather.

Great love this video. My money mistakes have definitely been never budgeting. If I have a job, I basically never check my account unless it notifies me I’m running low. Luckily I only have debit (I’m so scared of debt). I do need to learn how to build credit and save. Also build passive income. No more shopping what’s popular too.

yup, not checking enough or checking too much is usually a trauma response or insecurity with money. I'm working on that too!

i completely disagree with your point about rent. this is probably one of the only cities where paying over 30% is reasonable because most of us don't have cars. the 30% rule assumes that you have a car to pay for. before i moved to NYC, my transportation costs were over $1000/month

that's true too! What I said is based on the standard and from people I know, but it's whatever you feel comfortable with!!

I knew someone who is about 30 and lives with her parents all her life in NYC. She earned her own money as a corporate worker but never paid for even a cent for the rent that her parents paid. She never even paid for her cellphone bills. Instead, she mostly used her money to travel outside of States often and go out for parties and festivals. I bet she doesn't even know what can she save with the money she earned in the city.
