I’m sorry?! This storyline from charity shooting harry has gone wonky all of a sudden. Like first she shot Harry yes she was protecting herself and now killing her husband. Charity is my favourite emmerdale character but she should go to prison! The main part I’m trying to say out of this comment is.. WHO SLEEPS WITH A KNIFE?!? Like I’m not being funny I wouldn’t randomly go downstairs and grab and knife and sleep in my bed whilst it’s in my hand?!?!?!??!? Emmerdale script writers has now had their fun but gone a bit out of hand with their storylines

It sounds ridiculous, however PTSD sufferers often have paranoia and become violent with it. Many will sleep with weapons because they're terrfied to look over their shoulder. Charity was actually the perfect character to do this storyline with. She has dealt with a lot of trauma through her life and Harry is what finally tipped her over the edge. PTSD sufferers are out of character, that's the entire point. Sleeping with a knife for anyone without PTSD is ridiculous, however Charity is not well at all and is declining fast. Her attacking Mack is due to her mental state- whilst having this illness you tend to hallucinate. You're not all there. She was having a nightmare and her first instinct was to attack whoever was there- she attacked before her mind could catch up, before it could even process who it was. She wouldn't go to prison even if she killed Mack due to her mental state. In the correct frame of mind she wouldn't have attacked him at all. hey're actually writing this storyline well, it's just that many people don't understand it.
