It's annoying having people bitch about how the combat isn't the same as TTYD, however, it _is_ a valid complaint and dismissing it makes you no different to be honest. It's a bad take on your part. It's the same as the devs who don't want user reviews, because they don't want you to potentially decrease sales by pointing out flaws. Granted it's a small minority, from what I've seen, but they still exist. Criticism isn't something that you can choose to take only when it suits you and throw it away when it doesn't.

I feel like the only people who really HATE this game are people who are super attached to the older paper Mario games and can’t just look at this as a new experience. They actually think OTHER people are wrong because lots of them haven’t played any paper Mario games and this is there first one and they enjoyed it, and that one idiot that I think Charlie made a video about got in that big comment argument about how only idiots who haven’t played the other games like it. He basically admitted people with no previous bias liked it and the people who hated it are paper Mario stans who wanted the exact same experience as before. It’s one thing to not like it, but to HATE a game like this is so corny it looks amazing you’re just ignorant if you pretend it doesn’t. Games don’t have a responsibly to be connected to the previous game, it isn’t paper Mario 1 and this is paper Mario 2 that would be different. These are completely different titles, and even so super Mario 1 - 3 are extremely different. Super Mario 2 doesn’t even have ANY of the same mechanics and lots of people love that game. And people love 3 too despite it being a completely different thing then 2. I really don’t think the company making the “same game” over and over really matters if it’s fun and enjoyable every time, not saying Pokémon is, but hypothetically I don’t have a problem with sticking to the same formula, especially when you try that much other stuff I mean Pokémon has to have some of the most games out of any property

I agree with Charlie. You as a fan aren’t entitled to direct the game just because you buy it. It’s fine if you don’t like the combat, but these kids have to realize the Sonic movie being changed by angry virgins is a BAD THING. Every creator feels that way. It was pathetic and Charlie’s right, lots of people liked this game, however Charlie’s Pokémon point is always weird to me I get the past handful of games have been the same but he acts like they’ve ALWAYS been the same that just isn’t true. Yes they have the same combat and shit because you why wouldn’t you? Leaf green and emerald are two totally different experiences, you can call them lazy NOW but it’s corny to call them lazy for making the games in general, there’s literally DOZENS of different types of Pokémon games there have been for decades. Pokémon ranger, Pokémon mystery dungeon, Pokémon go, Pokémon snap or whatever they always try new stuff. They keep what the fans want like you said. I think most people hated sword and shield bc it was a boring experience
