Just noticed this on my 2017 STI… she’s leaking a bit of oil and i saw the cursed milkshake color on my oil cap and immediately thought my oil cooler gaskets are fading. For a car around 68k-70k I figured that would make the most sense. Maybe it’s something else tho. Hopefully I’ll get to the bottom of it today.

My new 24 hp lawn tractor dipstick had oil foam, I was worried, but now condensation seems likely. I'm now running a filter vent inside oil fill tube to vent out moisture during cold months.

This answers my question and just shows. Jiffy Lube is really pushing upsales this year. There was a very slight film on the engine cap. "You have moisture in your engine. We can do a full cleanout." Not interested.

LITERALLY SAME! Got a 2000 dodge dakota, its happened once before that I've noticed right when I got the truck, drove her for about 50 miles and it subsided. I just got her running again after about a year sitting still so it makes sense a bit of water got in there, but still got that dreadful feeling when I saw the froth. On these 4.7s the head gasket is easy to get to compared to other models, but its never easy or fun! 🤣

Man, got a 2010 Ram 1500, with a 4.7, removed the oil cap today and found this milky substance stuck in there, also found some water drops, My stomack turned right away...checked the dipstick and oil is fine, zero coolant, please tell me what happened yo your truck, was it just moisture ?

@@CarlosRojas-oy7pm yeah it's just moisture buildup in the tube condensing from the temperature difference. I guess there's no way it will build up enough moisture to cause problems before you have to get an oil change anyways.

The moiture is not coming from the air, its a closed system, it comes from the coolant - unless you leave your oil cap off

Just bought a cheap 07 canyon, I saw this and I was sad, but my dad told me it could be the pcv valve or soemthing. It doesn’t have bad exhaust or oily exhaust, I ran the engine and opened the radiator cap cold and no bubbles, so I was like there’s no signs of a blown head gasket. And so since my canyon has the pcv valve in the valve cover I’ll have to clean it out and change the hose to the resonator. I’ll do an oil change and I’ll bet it’ll run way more miles. Has a very sound motor for 200k miles.

Recently moved less then a mile from my job and it’s been cold, on my oil change this morning my Acura had a little of that yellowish slime under the oil cap, freaked out thought I blew the head gasket but I definitely didn’t, everything clean with my coolant, gotta just be condensation in the oil.

Thank you for the explanation, my 2011 subaru STI had some but it was barley any, knowing the supposed unreliability of the subaru engine it started to get me worried, but I barley drive the car maybe once a week so it would make sense it’s just moisture.

Had this in my 2010 Toyota Tacoma. Thought the worst. Changed my PCV; no change. bought the Block Tester BT-500 off Amazon to confirm whether or not I had a blown head gasket. Good investment & simple tester to confirm the status. That's what I did.

My brothers forklift has quit a lot of milkshake beneath the camshaft cover. Could this be because he always uses it for short periods of time and never lets the engine warm up properly or is the head gasket leaking?

I took my car in because I thought it was spark plugs. The mechanic drove it and said he did notice rpm slightly going up and down and slight jerk. He said it's due to water condensation. He recommended i get seafoam . Wondering what are my options. That's why I am here right now on the channel

What about "the milkshake" in my PCV and Crankcase Vent Valve?.. I have a rough idle so I started with these two parts to see if that would help and I noticed white sludge.

Do you see oil on the wall of the coolant canister? If not then there is no oil in your coolant meaning there is no mixing of oil and coolant in your engine. If yes, and you also see sludge on your oil cap then you probably have a blown head gasket.

@@Sage.brush98I got lucky. It happened once. I wiped it away, and the problem hasn't returned. I spent 6 months doing daily 1 mile trips. That's probably what caused it.
