This is a well-done video! I've watched a few others by folks who nearly know what they're doing, so I appreciate that you made this helpful video, and that you know your stuff.

Just installed one on my 22 F150 following along with your video. Very much appreciated. I will note that I just put the drain hoses in the holes that are in the bed directly next to the drain spout. I’ll see how it holds up but not drilling or cutting into my bedlined plugs was preferred.
@DIYBRY Жыл бұрын
Awesome! Those plugs I show are rubber. So if you every took of the cover, you could just buy some new bed plugs and your back to normal.

I just installed mine. I used the secound ruber washer to put on the top side to work as a gasket between the bolt anr the bed cover. That ead the main difference i did when installing.

I ran the drain hoses through the hole on the side of the bed. The put the weatherstripping on the cover along the rubber flap rather than on the bed of the truck. It’s spray lined, I figured it would stick better on flat surface.

Thanks man, this is really detailed and informative. I initially thought I might not complete the installation by myself. After watching your video, I gained a little bit confidence. Also, I assume this cover will also fit 2023 F150.
@DIYBRY11 ай бұрын
I am very glad to hear that. It’s a pretty simple install. Here is a link for a 2023. (Make sure you choose your correct bed length) amzn.to/4bYykoA

@@DIYBRY Thanks man. A small question. I notice that the cover is for 5'.7'' bed size. The general F150 is 5'.5''. I assume they will fit?
@DIYBRY11 ай бұрын
@@forrestpanda Yes. Some of that will hang over the lip of the tailgate and the front of the bed by the window. This is the help prevent water from getting in.
@forrestpanda11 ай бұрын
@@DIYBRY Received it today and Unfortunately, the front left corner is fractured and falls off. A tight washer is missing as well. I file the return immediately and they claimed they will charge me 30% of the money for return. It would be a nice cover if it didn't have fractured parts. The installation is not difficult by one person.

Nice video, is it necessary to use drain tubes as I don’t think I want to cut a section out of my spray in liner
@DIYBRY3 ай бұрын
@@sflagg0817 Drains would not exist if they were not necessary. I didn’t want to cut into my liner either, but those plugs in the bed I show are plastic and you can replace them if you ever decide to take off the cover. Thanks for watching! Subscribe!

The pop rods doesn’t fit in to the dedicated holder when the bed cover is fully open unless I push the bed all the way in. This leaves a gap of around an inch between the cover (when fully closed) and the tail gate leaving the bed exposed to elements. Wouldn’t be the issue if pop rods could be slid a little more towards the tail gate. Any thoughts? F150 Lariat 2022 6.5’ bed
@DIYBRY Жыл бұрын
You can loosen the bolt and slide the bracket up higher, then put the prop rods in place, then slide the bracket back down. It took me a little while to figure that out.

What if I have a drop in bed how should I route the drain tube
@DIYBRY Жыл бұрын
Drop in bed liner? You’ll have to drill a hole that meets up with the ones shown in the video.

Hi. What is size of drain hole?
@DIYBRY4 ай бұрын
@@thinhfan5844 I do not recall off the top of my head. I had knee surgery a week ago and am not currently in a position to go measure. As soon as I can, I will measure and reply. But, what ever cover you buy, just measure the drain pipe that comes with it. 😉
@PVVP500 Жыл бұрын
Are the drains really necessary? They look kind of bogus and cheap.
@DIYBRY Жыл бұрын
I’d rather not deal with water getting inside, but if you was to risk it, that’s your call.
@charlieaguilarАй бұрын
Thank you. Buuuuuut. I hear to never close your tailgate last.
@DIYBRYАй бұрын
@@charlieaguilar has never seem to ever be a problem. Besides, you cannot open the cover without opening the tailgate. Same motion just in reverse. It’s one of those things you might start out doing, but after a short while, it will become tedious, so you will probably very quickly be opening and shutting the tailgate all the time without opening the last panel just to shut the tailgate first so you can shut the last tonneau panel last.
