That mojo griddle would perfect if it had at least a 1" inch lip to keep the food from falling off.

Hi Joann! We solved that problem after this video was made with a new product called the "Mojoe Strap-On Griddlip" It's an attachable 1 1/2" high lip that curves around the entire backside of the Mojoe! It is available on our website at www.mojoegriddle.com . Check out any of our other newer videos on this channel to see the Strap-On being used. Cam

Excellent use of a chiminea and an excellent dish you cooked up Cam! I use to sit in front of a chiminea I use to have this time of year just to stay warm outside, and to think what I could have been doing with all that heat! Great job brother!

Thanks Rus! With a chimenea, you get high heat from two orifices! One of them keeps your body warm and the other makes your food hot! It's a wacky way to cook but it sure was fun! Cam

Yumm-o! I'm going to have to try that! I've got a cast iron chiminea! What a clever idea!

Thanks! I'll be waiting for you to make the jump! The chimenea is definitely a unique cooking method! I'd been eye-ing that thing for a long time, thinking about how it would do with a Mojoe cook and finally took the plunge. It worked out great! I'm going to use it a lot more - especially in the winter 'cause it will keep me warm and toasty while I cook. Cam

Pretty Cool , I use a ole grill grate from a lil Smokey Joe bbq grill that finally burnt out after like 6 yrs usage . I wrapped half the grate in heavy duty alum foil so smaller stuff couldn’t fall thru grill spacing .

Awesome! You can even boil a pot of water on that griddle. :)

I love your chimenea. Can you tell me where you bought it and where clay chimeneas are sold? I only see cast iron ones in the stores.

I just purchased one from Albertson's.

your chiminea looks shorter than mine, so you can do it this way. Mine's neck is much higher, and the fire won't get up that far.

Could you use a big wok? Food can't fall off edge. This is a good way to get around backyard fire ban in my area. They allow bbq's so I'll turn my chiminea into bbq

Great video. You're making me hungry with that excellent meal. Bravo to you. I own a chiminea like yours with a longer neck but hardly ever use it, but this past week, now that it's Summer, I decided to cut off the electric cooking and get outdoors for some free natural cooking, so thought I'd watch how the experts do it, and you did it good. Thanks for the inspirational video. Btw, was wondering if that cooking platform is a pizza stone ceramic (which I have one) or metal, because I don't know if ceramic would crack but would like to use mine. Thanks again.
@mojoeoutfitters9 жыл бұрын
trumpsahead Thanks for that! That "cooking platform" is the Mojoe Griddle. It is specially designed to lift the cooking surface up above the rim of the heat source like a chimnea chimney! Check it out: www.mojoegriddle.com . Cam

I love this guy's chimenea. I have one like it too but it is starting to crack and I will need to replace it. Can you tell me where you bought it and where clay chimeneas are sold? I only see cast iron ones in the stores.

The griddle would mimic the perfect heat diffuser for boiling water in a pot.

Large Chinese wok would also work - food won't fall off. Rubber gloves - when touching the food? Is that one serving? [Maybe for some people.]

Is that Arizona? I've been drawn to that environment for a few years now..I'm in Michigan. Can't use my chimnea till end of April due to weather.

Hi Ryan! This video was shot in the high desert of California about 20 miles from Joshua Tree National Park. My friend and I have a desert shack out in the middle of nowhere. For me, the desert is pure heaven. It's a two hour drive from my house near LA to this paradise! Cam

Wouldn't the chimnea break under the weight of the grill
@mojoeoutfitters4 жыл бұрын
Most quality single piece chimneas are plenty strong enough to place a 35 pound Mojoe on the top.
