Love my chiminea. I put two pieces of 8 inch stove pipe on mine and a fine wire mesh on top to keep the embers down in summer, works great. I can take the pipe off anytime but it’s main purpose is to take the smoke above my porch roof cause otherwise the smoke catches the wind and fills my porch with smoke.

I have a chiminea …just don’t throw cardboard in it or crazy 2 foot flames will be shooting out of the top!😜

Our front patio extends 8 ft. from the house. What is the recommended distance from the face of the Chimenea to a structure ? How much wood sparks come up through the top chimney ?

@@thekohser how far should you keep it from a deck made from composite wood?
@robertm59694 ай бұрын
Check the fire code in your area. For us it's 15ft from any wooden structure or property line

I was wondering which is more practical a metal stand or Terra Cotta?
@jumboslice15144 жыл бұрын
I’d go terra cotta

Basically is the Terra Cotta stand going to transfer heat below to my deck?
@jumboslice15144 жыл бұрын
Not an issue really. With a chiminea you should put sand or lava rock in the bottom to dissipate heat. I put in 20 pounds of sand that you buy at the lumber store, Home Depot. I works great at keeping the heat dispersed inside so the bottom doesn’t get too hot.

We do not recommend putting a chimenea under a covered area.

I think it’s better to have chimmaneas they are much safer than fire pits
