Take a simulator course on Microsoft. You may learn to love it. You only need the equipment for the software that mimics flying. You can also certify ready to solo, I believe. There's always wingsuits if it's too expensive. It's like skydiving, but with more directional stability.

@mojo, I noticed your flaps were still extended going thru what I estimate to be 1000 AGL. When do you typically retract the flaps in the Sling after takeoff? I think the Sling POH says retraction can occur at a minimum of 300 feet AGL and 75 KIAS. Why leave them extended so long? It hurts your climb performance, engine cooling, etc.

Funny thing is, if you had a perfectly straight and level stretch of road, there’s no car that could come close to those specs in terms of efficiency at that speed.

Was that 170 knots ground speed? What are the indicated or true airspeed for that 9500ft altitude cruise?
@EJWash572 жыл бұрын
Check out the closeup shot of the G3. It's all there on display.
@StephenClarkSAC2 жыл бұрын
@@EJWash57 At 4:43 I read the display as TAS 149kt, GS 169kt, indicated 126kt. Those are the published book figures. It is disingenuous to say ground speed without explaining that ground speed is benefiting from a considerable tailwind. As someone looking to build a Sling HW, I am keen to know real-world performance versus buying a DA40NG with DiamondShare and renting the airplane most of the time. Flying home into a headwind, I guess we'll have to wait for another video. It is still impressive that a constant 135 hp at altitude results in 171 mph airspeed. On 7.8 GPH that is an admirable 22 MPG.
