After blowing out my speaker playing Ween really loud one day, I took my Pro Jr. to my amp guy thinking I had blow a transformer or something. He just laughed at me and said I blew out the crappy stock Eminence 10" speaker. So I upgraded to a 12" Cannabis Rex speaker and this Mojotone cab. I can't be happier with the quality. Mojotone makes superior products.

I put my pro junior into a new cab with a Jensen 15" about a month ago. Sounds killer. Pro junior is such a sweet amp!
@pharmerdavid14325 жыл бұрын
Definitely a Blues Junior killer, this sounds so much better than the smaller cab with a 10" speaker! Kind of expensive, but worth it - great quality from Mojotone! If you have the smaller cabinet, try a Weber 10F150, and that will boost the volume, bass, and smooth the treble too. A great speaker, similar to a Jensen C10N.

I think the Pro Jr. is one of Fender's better sounding amps. The bigger cab is a good idea. I think an alnico speaker might sound really nice with this circuit.

It would be great to have a stock Pro Jr right next to this and A/B them so we could hear the difference. But I do imagine the difference is huge.

I did something similar with my Blues Jnr amp. I got a larger cabinet in Fender brown tolex, with wheat grill cloth, and brown dog-bone handle. My Blues Jnr is the Mk3 Red October version with black faceplate and white knobs. I got the cream (off-white) round control knobs to replace the chicken-head knobs (it took a lot of work to fit them as they are not designed for the cheap Blues Jnr pots). The cab is loaded with a Jensen 15" speaker. I wanted an alnico speaker and advised the cabinet maker exactly what speaker I wanted, giving him the dimensions etc. Unfortunately, he got something wrong - the cab not deep enough or something - the alnico magnet sticking out the back of the speaker got in the way of the valves sticking down from the amp chassis. I had to change the speaker to a Ceramic 15" Jensen speaker (C15N) - as that fits. The ceramic one sounded better anyway, as it turns out. My Blues Jnr has a much fatter low-end now. The cabinet is wide enough to fit a full-width spring reverb now (I think the Fender hot-rod series Deluxe full width reverb tank is electronically compatible with the Blues Jnr amp. I just haven't gotten around to doing this, partly because the better US-made reverb tanks are not made any more). A new full width reverb tank is my next simple project for this amp.

I called my local hardware store asking for a "Brad puncher" and was met with confusion. Then asked for a finishing hammer and they told me to go in... I left with a pair of scissors, him insisting it was the hammer. Works wonders now for hammering in Brads. Thanks GMD

Pure tone! I just added this Mojotone cabinet and Eminence 12" Cannabis Rex to my Pro Junior. Good headroom for small-medium sized gigs and works great with overdrive pedals. Somehow adds both bass frequencies and treble frequencies to the tone of the amp. The stock speaker is way to middy and harsh.

Score one more video for the junior guitarist rig ideas! Attainable at a younger age, mics better, and more quality tone from a younger guys tube amp! Awesome idea and even more awesome for the younger budget guitarist! Hell, I might buy a junior and try this out for the bedroom when I can't sleep. Mic it up and recorder on my portastudio!

TJ Nugent you know that the doggone cab on all these fender amps like this ,pro jr,blues jr,etc. the tone is crippled by the cab. Right off the bat. boy if we put a real solid wood cab it would really really help the sound soooo much. i love my blues jr. i do. i love pro jrs too. but the cab must be replaced. i have yet to do mine but as i fixed up this blues jr. btw its outrageous and bad ass!!!!! i see that the cab is the weak link. Sounds pretty good, definitely a mass improvement on the Pro Jr. Good clip, Veteran 30 from WGS rocks. I did all the smallish modern Fenders - HotRod Deluxe, Pro Jr, and Blues Jr. Probably liked the PJ the most for it's sound for size quotient, but there was no getting past the Fender Fart low-end and they've all been passed along.

@Aint1S12 жыл бұрын
It'll sound better... it exploits the amps output and can push harder. When a tube is pushed to its Max, its tonal quality goes up as well. That's why a lot of new amps have an option for attenuated output. Driving the amp harder and really getting into that tube is worth it. Not to mention, the swap has given GMD the lower frequency response of the 12" speaker... that can not be reproduced by the smaller speaker.
