I was just here a couple weeks ago and happened across this little road in my wandering. I have a campervan, started up, hit the gravel, and paused trying to figure out just exactly where this road went...then decided discretion is the better part of valor and turned around. 😂

That scenic overlook near the top is new. Or new-ish. Haven't been out there since the early '90s. Threw a folding frisbee off the top.

If you stop at the pull-offs to take pictures it would take much longer. It's about 3 miles long. It probably took 15 minutes since it was gravel and had switchbacks. That is an estimate. I didn't time it.

C'mon! It's not that scary! Maybe a 4 on the "10 scale." Try the BLM Back Country Byway that leads to the old solar observatory atop Harquahala Peak , which is Southeast of Salome, Arizona. Now, that's a scary road!
