This channel focuses on the attractions and animal welfare of great apes (Chimpanzee, Gorilla, Orangutan).
We praise zoos that are proactive about animal welfare and environmental enrichment,
and strongly criticize those that are passive about animal welfare and environmental enrichment,
and demand that animal welfare be implemented.
*Environmental enrichment is a measure to reduce
their mental and physical stress and have them live a happy life from the standpoint of an ape,
not from a human convenience or emotion.
Among them,
foraging enrichment (installing puzzle feeders and increasing the number of meals so that apes can lead a rich life) can be done at low cost.

かたわらに温かいゴム毬のようなモコイチにがいるだけで心が和みそう．モコさんも寂しいでしょう．モコさんだけでなく動物園のチンパンジーたちに充実した日常を過ごしてもらいたいです．チンパンジーの命を預かることは大変な仕事ですね．

モコの瞳が寂しい気持ちに感じます。人以上に見ているのと抱けるのとは違いますから。チンパンジーは、担当だけに負担させるのではなく、園全体で対策を検討してレベルアップしていく必要があると思ってます。

今までで一番生き生きとのんびりしたスグルに見えます。ギンは父になったくらいですから問題ないと思いますが、スグルとココの関係かな？と思っています。ココは自分がリーダーであるという気持が強いです。チンパンジーはメンバー数が多くなればなるほどトラブルが発生しやすくなりますから。いつか一緒に暮らせるようになればいいですね。

It's incredible how much Suguru has changed since Mokoichi's transfer, he looks much calmer and happier. I'm not worried about the little erotic games among them, first because these interactions happen also among wild primates and apes, second because they don't harm anyone in the troop. Let's not forget that we tend to project our taboos and cultural prejudices onto apes who don't have these moral restrictions (or they have different ones). Seeing Suguru banging his head on the floor or Mokoichi dragging himself while sitting on his blanket was much more disturbing. I wish one day the whole family could stay together and Koko/Moko could raise more kids!

3:20 - Oh dear God in heaven! What on earth is going on in that zoo?! Well, I guess the good news is that things just couldn’t possibly get any worse than that! Hmm, strange. I’m getting the feeling like I should probably wait until the end before commenting - almost like it’s going to come back and bite me in the… 5:25 - uh oh! Sooo, did anyone else happen to catch the last episode of Seinfeld? I’m sorry - I suddenly don’t feel so good. Maybe I just need a moment or two to get my thoughts together… N-no, I’m totally fine. Well, except for the- NOOOooooo! Some things humans are just not meant to see… my eyes need holy water, they’re burning - Buurrrrnnniiinnngg!!
