Good stuff! I enjoy sectioning as well. 1 2 3 and it's a wrap!

Jaz can you use the electric hand piece to trough/ remove bone? And what burs do you use for this?
@protrusive2 жыл бұрын
yes you can - it is no different to using the fissure bur or round bur on a straight surgical handpiece. Ensure irrigation to keep it cool. I use course diamonds mostly

Hi Meken - you could but there is a small risk of surgical emphysema (greatly reduced by not raising a flap) so it's safer to use a speed increasing handpiece or a 'rear-venting' handpiece where the air is passed BACK

How can you know when you section roots separately ?
@protrusive10 ай бұрын
As in, when you are fully through the tooth? Under loupes and light you can see bleeding which is a helpful indicator. Whether you have sectioning at the correct place...you'll find out when you start elevating! You'll make some mistakes at the start with angulation but will improve over time

“6 seconds” it’s a really nice tip , but why exactly 6 ?
@protrusive2 жыл бұрын
hahah I wondered that too. I think I'm more patient than that oral surgeon as I usually wait until at least 12 seconds sometimes ;) Not sure how he came up with 6 seconds TBH!
