I had a large silver filling in my molar #17 done more than a decade ago. Over the period, it developed fine cracks. Recently a corner section of this tooth chipped off, almost exposing the root. Now I went to the dentist thinking she might be able to reconstruct the tooth using some composite filling. However dentist argues that crown is a more suitable option since the walls adjoining the tooth corner also chipped off and a composite filling might not stay without the corner walls. Can you suggest if thus tooth can still be reconstructed using onlay or inlay or just composite filling ?

Thanks for the video! Did I understand correctly that an RCT teeth can also be restored with onlay with no issues if the three criteria you mentioned are satisfied?

Your views on indirect composite onlay sir.... offcourse ceramic emax onlay has more stronger bonding to enamel.

its OK but insufficient in every domain compared to lithium disilicate, not just bond strength but flexure/fracture resistance too
