This is from the movie Control. It's a biopic about Joy Division, the band who they clearly take their inspiration from. They were played from 1978 to '80 in England. Their sound evolved from raw punk to incorporate synthesizers and haunting melodies, complemented by lead singer Ian Curtis's distinctive vocals. (You'll notice the similarities of you watch the movie or listen to Joy Division) The remaining band members formed New Order in the 1980s (think trainspotting /blue Monday) after Ian Curtis's untimely demise at the age of 23 😢. (Sue is idle) Curtis suffered from severe epilepsy and depression, and had seizures both on and off stage. He incorporated his experiences with epilepsy into his lyrics. New order is sort of a post-punk electronica/dance fusion. More Pop/New Wave than joy division. They are both great. Similar and yet oh so different. ❤ Great movie. Very sad.
