For folding feathers use hand sanitizer gel,it holds it folded and then it will evaporate when the fly is tied.

Thank you for your kind words. Glad you like it. Spiders are relatively undiscovered in my fishing. I have always had them but i avoided fishing them since i wasnt confident. That improved though. However, i need to learn much more

@@Oholisfliesandfishing I have spent 25 years fishing soft hackles caddis, mayflies, and even size 24 tricos. It can be very rewarding. I don't know the type of water you fish but I have tried them all. And they still work. Linc

@@lincolnparmer9708 thats less important. I love tying too... Although i love to beat my numbers and i was in two world championships that doesnt mean much... How much one enjoys it is all that matters. So we are both winners here I'd say... Both love tying and fishing 🍺😃

Beautifully done. Thanks for posting Vladimir. I've been using Stonfo hackle pliers with a built-in spring to avoid the rachis from slipping out. Additionally, I add a touch of Veniard wax to the jaws, which seems to help.

Thank you so much. Seems that most of my mistakes happen when camera is ON 🤣 I have shrink tube on my hackle pliers. Jt helps... I dont know why this slipped.

Beautiful fly! Since I watched a DVD of Oliver Edwards I have been delighted with this fly! Very well tied. It's very interesting how you treated the partridge feather before tying in.

Thanks. Oliver is one of the first proper tiers i had watched.. Its time when Internet wasnt a thing. Now its easy 😃😃 Its interesting but still not good enough. Those batbs have to go all to one side without any stray ones...

@@Oholisfliesandfishing Yes indeed-they are so elegant. I enjoy them. It took me a while to get the hang of working with soft hackles but I'm reasonably competent nowadays now. I notice that Hans Weilenmann ties the hackle in first from the thick end, but Whatever method works is fine of course. :-)

@@TERRYBIGGENDEN sure, there are multiple ways to do it all. no need to be exclusive about tying. Or anything for that matter,.. I wish i can say that i am happy how i fish wets... I am still learning a lot every time i use them. Amazing flies for sure.
