I don't understand the bashing of this product here in the comments. It's a briliant product, for people who have the need for this. I personally can't write and use notes on tablets as intuitively as on paper. Yet, I love to have my notes digital, sort and share them there, add pictures afterwards etc. This is the perfect crossover solution. I tried it in a shop, it works smoothly. The pen saves every movement correctly, the page of the notebook is recognized ever time, text recognition is very very good (taking into account my horrible handwriting).

I was in Roma today & saw this product 1 st hand…. I Don’t ever write digitally … all my notes are with a pen or pencil … a lifetime of NOTES & journals… now I can have an original journal & all my hand written notes on the App… this is brilliant tech for old school writers. I love it. It’s a bit expensive 246 Euro & restricted to actual MOLESKIN journals so your forever having to purchase that particular model of journal… but it’s a fair trade off for a lifetime of works that means a lot. ART ! 🎥🖋🖋🎥

This is perfect for someone like me. I want to write a book but I do not feel inspired or emotional when typing, but i prefer my stories to be text docs, not handwritten because eventually I would have to manually transcribe my handwriting to text in order to post or publish it and that is so time-consuming. I love how I feel when I am writing with ink. I think this is a great for authors and poets.

Wonderful to see someone with actual experience with the product comment on it. I'm wondering if I should get one of these. I'm pretty good at typing :-), but I find that when studying I make better notes by hand than when typing. However, keeping track of paper notes is a mess, and carrying them with me at all times is just not an option. I've seen a number of products promising basically the same thing as this product, and I briefly tried LiveScribe, but it did not live up to its promises. SmartWriting is a bit expensive to buy on a whim, so I'm counting on enough evaluations from real users to accumulate before I make a decision one way or another.

I'm not mad at this, I guess, but it seems pointless. I carry a Moleskine because I don't want to have a bunch of devices to worry about. Do you have to always have the tablet with you or can the pen save your writing strokes and digitize them later? It seems like you have to carry around 3 things now (the pen, the moleskin, and the tablet) which just makes it a huge pain in the ass.

Did people asking whether or not it supports offline sync even mind watching the whole video? Sometimes writing on actual paper can be more accurate than writing on a glass surface and there are often situations (e.g. certain in meetings) where people react very sensitive to others carrying laptops or tablets around. Since the pen is not using proprietary but standard refill tips I think the product is actually kinda useful. It may turn out as a niche product in the end, but I think it is definetly worth giving it a try.

I don't see anything "Smart" in this Smart Writing Set. I wonder why not just write in your tabler or notebook? Why don't make a single sheet pad on which ink can be erased? This smart writing set could be only useful in sketching, because it might avoid scanning drawings. Nonetheless i think this pen has not pressure sensitivity ( unlike other competitor products like the professional wWcoms ones), so i think it could be used only for simple, low quality linearts.
@adorm8 жыл бұрын
It saves every line you make as a vector - so your lineart will be of the highest quality actually. It gives you the option to export your sketches or text in various formats and the pen is pressure sensitive, so you get a very accurate representation of your sketch, but its purpose is different to that of a wacom tablet. The main draw for this product is the sketching and in app editing abilities, great for conceptualising in creative fields. It also has the ability to transcribe like Livescribe and record audio.

The important fact you're missing here is that you can search your notes digitally in seconds, versus having to flip through multiple pages and/or books. Otherwise, it could take forever to find what you're looking for and also, if you were to lose the notebook, it is stored for forever in the cloud, so nothing is ever lost.

So what if the pen dies? You can't use it nor the notebook for 30 min? Also, it looks like you can use the pages only once and after that, you have to go to the next page until your out of pages. For someone that is a minimalist and eco conscious, this moleskin is not for me. I will keep using my Rocket book where i can keep using the same notebook until i either die or i loose my notebook. The moleskin smart notebook is a great concept for someone that has the money to buy a new "specialized" notebook every time your done with this one and for someone that is trying to do good but doing it the wrong way. With my Rocket book, i can use the same page over and over and over again by using a heat source or by wiping it with a damp cloth. And the pen, i can find it anywhere and i can still use the pen to write on other notebooks.

Your excellent presentation was ruined by the background music. Your music choice was pleasant, however during your presentation music is extremely annoying and distracting. Many folks have hearing and language comprehension difficulties thus while you are talking your audience must fight the background noise; yes the music becomes noise. Music in the beginning and end is okay, when you are talking it is never okay. Notice, TV news reporters, professors, folks giving business presentations, preachers, and the like, when they are talking they never play music. Reason, they want their audience completely understanding that which is being stated.
