The sound is intentional, it’s categorized as southern rock. Bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot, The Outlaws and Molly Hatchet were very successful in this category. My personal belief is, the song was really about the old west cowboys, sheriffs and the deputies, but I couldn’t help following the lyrics more to the simplistic meaning. Thank you for watching.
