My first pregnancy (after 4 years of trying) was ectopic and my parents found out when I was in the hospital with a ruptured tube having emergency surgery. So when we told them with the second pregnancy, they were happy but cautious. I had lots of problems and was hospitalized for a while so the best part was when he was born healthy (he has autism but is physically healthy). For my third pregnancy, they were more easy going, but it ended up being a molar pregnancy, I almost bled out, and I needed a hysterectomy. Altogether I just found telling parents to be stressful and I don’t associate it with good memories. The birth of my son is a good memory though. I had him at home in our kitchen in a birthing pool. I went into labour before lunch and everyone (my mom, sister, best friend) came over after lunch and I had a nice relaxing labor and he was born just after 5pm with the sun shining through the window, everyone crying tears of joy. It was beautiful. My dad came after we got dried off and dressed (my hubby was there the whole time holding my hand or hugging me). I wish we could have had more (my sister has 4 and she was never planning to get pregnant but changed her mind after going to my birth, my first nephew was born a year later), but the next announcement we are hoping to make is that we are adopting. We tried the newborn program for a few years but there are only a handful of babies and hundreds of waiting parents. We just retook all the courses so we could adopt an older child through foster care and the week after we finished our course, everything went into lockdown. Now we’re in limbo. Being matched with a child is something I’m both excited and nervous about. We’re not an adventurous exciting family and I’m afraid they’ll be disappointed when they meet us, my parents are worried about their possible past traumas and how they might impact the family. Only time will tell.

I’m gonna be real vulnerable here, so nobody come for me please. I had an unwanted pregnancy in September and miscarried in October and there have been alllllll sorts of new and difficult emotions to work through so sometimes I can’t watch these videos because it makes me really really sad. Even tho I wasn’t ready to be a mother, there was still a part of me that really wished I could’ve kept it. But there are other times where watching these videos is really therapeutic because I can picture myself reading a positive pregnancy test and actually being happy about it in the future. So this makes me really excited to eventually be a mom. Congrats and I wish you a safe and healthy pregnancy as well as an easy delivery 💞💞💞

ahhh I love watching people finding out they're pregnant because it just reminds me of when I found out and I get such warm fuzzies haha it felt soooo surreal. I had such strange symptoms and felt off, then didn't have the usual PMS symptoms so I tested the first day of my expected period, expecting a negative, and it was actually a really strong positive. I just remember shaking and laughing. I don't remember how many times I said "no way no way no way" now we're almost at the finish line and I still feel like.................... no way no way no way!! I'm going to have a baby soon???? no freaking way lol
