I love singing. I was improving my voice range and texture day by day two years back before GERD hit me. I was diagnosed with gastritis which was turning into ulcers, and fortunately i got it controlled by two months of medications (basically antacids). Later on, i dont get heartburns or too much of mucus, but one thing which stayed with me is Sore throat. My vocal cords are still suffering, and i can't sing the way i use to sing. Voice fatigue, hoarseness, and it becomes evident when i try to sing softly or higher notes. Sometimes it automatically goes away, but very rare, mostly it stays with me, and this breaks me and slowly taking myself away from my passion. I hope i am able to sing FREELY again.

I am a singer who has lost their voice dude to LPR and I cannot put into words how heartbreaking it is. I have developed several other debilitating comorbidities after LPR, and all of them have been objectively more physically painful but I swear I would choose any of them over losing my voice. I have a permanent headache due to a build up of fluid in my head, it is 24/7 pain, and if I had to choose between this and my voice loss I would choose the headache immediately. I want my voice back so badly. It means more to me than anything. I would sacrifice a leg to get my voice back.

Good video and I had the same journey as Molly in the past 15 years and came to the similar conclusions. I was on PPI for about 10 years on and off, and now for almost 2 years I'm off PPI. To be honest, I came to video to learn about Key Strategies not for the ad in every second sentence. I'd like more video if Molly was not overselling the Masterclass. IMHO mention at the beginning and end of the video would be enough.

I just happened to stumble across your videos this morning. Didn't realize that acid reflux was a big enough issue to have videos made about it. Obviously then, many people must deal with this issue too. I eat very very clean and couldn't figure out how I developed acid reflux. Doctor said age is a factor and prescribed medicine and nasal sprays which I don't want to take. I am so glad I stumbled across your videos and appreciate the resources you have made for those of us who have acid reflux. I look forward to going through other videos to learn more. Thanks again.

Hi Molly, or to whom may know the answer to my question… :) I was not so long ago diagnosed with chronic moderate gastritis with GERD. Been taking Famotidine prescribed by my MD for quite some time. Now l’ve noticed that it has become ineffective. (fyi: used to take a ppi but i’ve decided to stop taking it for obvious reasons) I’m planning to take Slippery Elms and Licorce Root. Do you know if it’s okay to include a digestive enzyme supplement as well? My doctor isn’t much help and suggest that supplements are useless. She didn’t even know what slippery elms were lol. So to anyone who has any suggestions, it’s much appreciated! ty!!

Both these have helped me. Also one teaspoon of honey in the morning and before bedtime also was helpful. I have not taken the enzyme root because I have read one should be tested and examined to learn which enzyme(s) to take and this I have not done.

Can stress management heal my loose LES ? Can it be tightened naturally??
@Chevalier_de_Pas25 күн бұрын
No, it can't. But there are people with a loose LES that have mild reflux, can live without PPIs or with low dosage, so don't lose hope! Loose LES is the mechanical cause, and medicine hasn't found a way to reverse it yet (surgery isn't an optimal solution for everyone, cause it is invasive, has risks and only lasts roughly 10 years), so even if the loose LES was originally brought about by chronic stress/mental health issues, you'll always be susceptible to reflux. Although it isn't clear what causes reflux to be so unbearable and life ruining for some and so mild/ treatable for others, to affect the throat and lungs for some (LPR, which is less responsive to treatment) and not for others, etc., stress (mental health/psychosomatic component), diet and lifestyle are certainly big factors; for some, stress is really the main culprit for flare-ups and lack of response to treatment. Maybe you are or will be one who with the right management can live a fulfilled life with few flare-ups and many remissions; but this can be a tough disease to treat...

Eat red apples for a few days to treat acid reflux. They are alkaline in nature which neutralizes too much acid caused by food such as bananas and other acidic foods.

Finally gave up watching after listening to all the reasons you have GERD. Bla, bla, bla.
@MollyPelletierRD3 ай бұрын
Many people ask about why they have reflux, and I get this question a lot. Some find it helpful to hear how others developed GERD, as understanding the root cause can be insightful for managing their own symptoms. At the end of the day, the focus should be on what helps you feel better, not just the reasons behind the diagnosis. Everyone’s journey is different, while knowing what caused it can be helpful -- the most important part is finding what works for YOUR body and lifestyle.

@@lindsayswarthout9227it’s absolutely fine to wear whatever you want!! Not my issue at all. It may be a generational thing here but if you read what I said originally, I was very impressed with her information and was just saying how she should be taken as seriously as her credentials deserve. She worked hard for those degrees and has much to offer. Her videos are not just out there for teenagers. I am a 67 year old grandma suffering from gerd for years. This popped up on my feed because I’m always listening to doctors speak on the subject.
