Santos , Reyes, and Gus (even though Gus was a bit more well rounded and shot for takedowns) were all kickboxers who were athletic and the same size as Jon. He got caught exchanging in the pocket when he absolutely should have worked his wrestling game early to tire Ngannou out. I don’t think he looked terrible in that fight. However, watching him literally struggle to walk without a limp at ufc 300 was honestly sad. He looked like his body was completely shot. I’d imagine the fights plus the firefighting have really added up. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t get absolutely worked by Jones, who will probably be on the sauce and is 5 years younger than him

Jon jones lost his last 3 fights at LHW, one by DQ. I keep my own scores. Reyes and Santos both clearly beat him and corrupt judges know to do what they think the UFC wants if they can plausibly do so without the whole internet ripping them apart. Anthony Smith beat jon by DQ. I know people don’t like titles passing by DQ but it has to be that way or else why should Jones not eye poke everyone until the refs DQ him, and then keep his title forever? At least in theory he can. He loses by DQ but keeps the title because the sort of idiots who hate Aljo for it won’t stand for the DQ winner to get the belt. Like Aljo or Anthony Smith.

From Jon’s point of view, it would be to sweet to retire after the stipe fight. Dana is on the goat tour after he had been down grading him historically and finically for years. He is still on top. Honestly we want Jon to fight aspinal, but if Jon beats him does it help his legacy? Sure it maybe Tom’s turn next but aspinal hasn’t done anything compared to jones. Maybe he will or maybe he’s the next Dominic Reyes. I hope Jon leaves and can find happiness in being a husband and father.
