I was present at this very significant meeting, and am proud to be Hawaiian and a resident of this beautiful AINA (land). I trust that EVERYthing will work out for the WELL BEing of our island and people. Mahalo Nui Loa, (thankyou very much) for watching, and sharing this video with those who will appreciate what it means to live in community with anyone who truly loves, not just Molokai...but our beloved planet Earth. The potential for turning Molokai Ranch into a role model and nexis of sustainable living is huge and will, if seen for what it truly represents, impact the whole state of Hawaii and beyond.

I do have a question. If someone pays 260 million to buy land then why do people who are not owners feel they should dictate how the land is used. Granted I would never want to see the land abused but the people on the video seem to think any owner should do what they want them to do instead of working together. That makes no sense to me.

@Keliana K Having lived on Molokai'i I can tell you there is indeed a drug problem on that island.
@Champstarrable5 жыл бұрын
@Keliana K Point is your reply is misleading. When Molokai Ranch was open did it make Molokai look like a shit-hole? Yet it was still protested out of existence anyway. Doesn't matter who buys the land or what it's used for if it's not someone from Molokai the residents will never accept it. Or at least a lot won't.

@Keliana K I acted as if you all were living it up? I think you're confusing my comments for yours. You are the one who said "We don’t have homeless people, or people who shoot up drugs, or prostitution like other places that are infected with" I'm the one who pointed out that wasn't true. Bottom line Molokai Ranch was hated because it was owned by foreigners and that's the only thing that matters.

@Keliana K Molokai welcomed me and my ohana once. It would do so again if need be and that's not a decision you get make. Thankfully most of the people I knew there are much kinder and logical than you 😉

Keliana K Your so kind you told me Molokai would never be my home while knowing nothing about me and like you said you don’t care. Doesn’t matter what is true or not to you. You’ve made up your mind to exclude people including myself no matter what.

Caution Brothers this is a poke into Molokai to see how far they can go and what they can get.

Molokai is not a large island. To the residents of Molokai, this is their home, their backyard, their villages, their families, their ancestral burial grounds, their culture, their resources and their responsibility. The host culture is the Hawaiians. Therefore they do have a right, to say what happens to their home. Hawai'i islands and their people are very different from the rest of America. Hawaiians have been the caretakers of these islands for centuries. They are known to be master conservationist. When you take, you must give. The mentality is stemmed from sustainability a process that encourages life instead of destroying it. Please search Hawaii conservation programs. There you will see the current progress we're making on the islands to ensure the life of all species endemic and native to the islands. So that all that is now and all that will be in the future, can prosper and care for themselves. Please have Aloha when we discuss. This issue does not consist of one but many.

Ignorant Hawaiians sold it to the white man. Don’t complain now we have you a couple nails and a hammer for that 1000 acres. You thought it was a good deal then why complain now?

Interesting Walter Ritte cites the violation of law over pumping from the well without a permit but defended the unlawful behavior of closing the Maunakea Access Road by saying the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom was illegal at the BLNR meeting on Oahu. Does US/State law apply or not? Can't have it both ways.
@pomaivk5 жыл бұрын
@AndrewTaylor By law America is occupying Hawai'i illegally. There is no treaty of annexation. Many people have looked and it does not exist. So by American law you cannot occupy a monarchy without a treaty of annexation. So as the monarchy of Hawai'i they do have the right to block access to the spiritual seat of the monarchy, Mauna o Wakea. There is no both ways it wouldn't be smart to do that. Know the law to use the law.

@@pomaivk You are incorrect. The Republic of Hawaii, after the Hawaiian Kingdom was overthrown was annexed by Joint Resolution which is the same way the Republic of Texas was admitted to the Union. So your argument about the treaty of annexation isn't valid. Is Texas now not a state too? And if you really espouse that US law doesn't apply then you can't claim it's legitimate when it comes down in your favor and claim it isn't when it comes down against your position. Having a double standard such as this undermines your own position.
@pomaivk5 жыл бұрын
@AndrewTaylor Andrew Taylor you are incorrect there is no document or treaty of annexation it is a lie. The only way that you can prove there is, is if you find it and present it to the Hawaiian Kingdom and the public. Many have looked, went to Washington DC searched for it asked for it but no luck. What you will find is the Ku'e Petition of 1897 that is signed by 38,000 native Hawaiians that were against annexation. Where is the treaty? Was there one? Why haven't we seen it?
@Champstarrable5 жыл бұрын
@@pomaivk Again the Republic Of Hawaii was annexed by Joint Resolution not by a treaty of annexation which is a constitutional was of adding a territory to the US. Thus, no treaty is needed. And again Texas was annexed the same way.

Andrew Taylor it's 2019 everyone including yourself knows America is a crook. Are you seriously selling yourself out and supporting them? You think they care about you? The Queen was imprisoned in her own palace and forced to sign the treaty. They found her journal in 1993 revealing the truth of what happened. So yes ultimately all US affairs in Hawaii are fraudulent. The US let's these corporations get away with not following the rules and Walter is just holding these corporations accountable.
