Good job, Matt! I've been saying this for years to my husband (we live in NM) that all the people who buy there and build big expensive homes do not connect to the community or help out. They just further drain the few resources that is there. I feel as passionate about what is said here (and so fun to see al those familiar faces) and am proud that someone like you is making all these wonderful videos about Molokai and getting the right message out there. Way to go, dude!

My Hawaii-born parents took me to Molokai when I was maybe 4 or 5 years old. My Japanese grandfather taught me how to use chopsticks. But I never realized the incredible Aloha there until I returned in 2008 as a Massage Therapist. I went to learn lomi lomi, the sacred temple style massage. I remember feeling so welcomed there, but it wasn't merely an earthly welcome. I felt a deep comforting feeling from my ancestors who were happy to see me back in the place on Earth I Iove the most.

There is nothing like Love in Hawai'i. It pours and emanates, is lived out in action and thought, both; it flourishes with such richness, fullness, whole and in entirety, it is not possible to totally put words to it. It is something lived and experienced. Loved unconditionally, the air breathed, the world....each other. When one becomes Pono. Akua is attained, retained, and maintained. Aloha is thrilled in, enjoyed, marveled at, alas, cherished. Oh what greatest Highest Power the Self can Be. When one's strength has no boundaries; is unlimited.

I was given a Hawaiian name in a dream. The name is "Olelo". This was astonishing to me because I'm not Hawaiian and I had no idea what Olelo meant. I'm looking forward to learning more about Hawaiian culture and history now to better understand why this name came to me in such an unexpected way. Mahalo for sharing!
