I have been using Molotow Liquid Chrome for a few months now from both the pen and in my airbrush (No thinning required). I use Alclad Klear Kote over the top after a 3 day drying time and don't lose any shine. All other clear topcoats(Acrylic, Enamel and Laquer) I have tried have affected the reflectiveness of the surface

I tried this pen, the 1mm,. Worked vert well on landing struts. Went to use the same pen months later & could not use the pen, the paint dried the trip closed. Paint came out holding the tip depressed into a blob & wound up throwing it away.

In model car crafting I discovered placing items in front of a room fan will accelerate dry times of the alcohol based Molotow chrome.
@TomatoTomato9113 жыл бұрын
You can easily clean up with zippo fluid before it dries up but the ink can take a week to fully cure. Future floor helps seal the chrome on and you lose around 10% of the shine.

Picked up the 1mm pen 6 months ago from hobbrama and the D9R Dozer you saw at the 2017 QMHE , I used the pen on the hydraulic rams. Was so happy with the results, I grabbed the 30mm refill for $45 also from Hobbyrama to spray through the airbrush. To be safe I give it 1 week just to be sure it's safe to touch. Andrew and Casey are always a great help when I drop in and keen to always to stop and chat.

I love these pens now. I always spend a good amount of time in Hobbyrama when in Brisbane. I remember your D9R it was beautiful mate. That was one of my fav kits to build. I am thinking about building the caged version as well.

im very late to the party with this video but i've been looking for a shiny chrome paint for the main body of the new Shard of the Void Dragon 40k model. He's made of a liquid, living metal so i thought shiny chrome would do nicely. it's great to hear that i can get this stuff from hobbyrama! next time i get the chance i'm going to pick up a tube for my airbrush. it's expensive but im willing to give it a shot.

I love these pens and helped me get 1st place in a model building contest adding that axtra detail! I just hate having to push on the tip to get it going because it messes it up after so many times. Kinda just make a puddle with the refill bottle on painters tape and dip the pens in it to do my detailing now. Been using them for years!

Could the tip be cleaned with alcohol or laquer thinner to keep it from hardening?
@ShawnJames3103 жыл бұрын
If you accidentally drop alcohol while it’s drying you are done. How come no one did trial and error. For what you can top coat so Al cohol doesn’t affect it after cure if accidentally dropped on it when dry.

Hello! I have those pens and enjoy them immensely. My question is, what is the make of the rusty model car you were working on? I am looking for a 1969 Ford Fairlane 2-door hardtop, and this car looks like it. If it is, can you tell me where you purchased it? Thank you, Judy
@scalemodelmania6 жыл бұрын
Hi Judy. It is a ford but i have no idea where i got it from. Its an old amt kit. this is a link to one www.modelroundup.com/product-p/amt-31935.htm just look around they are still out there. Good luck.
