I hope AJ knows how awesome it is that you care enough about her to set ground rules with her without actually being "strict" (she'll realize one day you aren't actually that strict lol). My parents wouldn't let boys past the living room when I was in high school. I always had somewhat of a curfew (I was a gymnast so I never had free time anyways and my parents understood I kinda needed to be out late to spend time with friends). They made sure they always knew where I was at, so I was safe. It created a very healthy and respectful bond between me and my parents. I'm 20 years old now and my parents are able to have fun with me as a grown adult because they know they've raised me to be responsible. I'm so thankful for the way they raised me and will be the same amount of "strict" with my children.
