The Uber story is crazyyy!! I’m almost 28 now but when I was about 14 , a friend and I wanted to go to the mall. We were walking around our town just for fun when a taxi pulled over and asked us if we needed a ride. We asked if he could to go the mall and he was like “get in”, so we got in. We had this weirdddd feeling and had 911 ready to go just in case. We then, were driving in the wrong direction like where tf are we going and he was like we have to make a quick stop. So now we are freaking out and he literally asked us to call him “Uncle Sam” at this point we are SWEATING. We end up pulling up to this house where he makes us get out of the car and get in a different car.. his PERSONAL CAR.. we pick up some lady i can’t remember if it was like his family member? And then after god knows how long, he took us to the mall… 😅 horrrifyingggg. Felt the need to share cause it threw me so far back

I had a similar situation but with either Uber or Lyft (can’t remember which). My boyfriend and I were heading to the Salt Lake City Airport to head back home. The guy pulled up and then introduced himself while he loaded our LUGGAGE into his trunk. We get in the car and he confirms that we’re heading to the airport - I provided the address so I had zero concern that there could possibly be confusion. This man had a very heavy accent and was incredibly difficult to understand. After 25 minutes on the road, he pulls off the highway and I ask if we were taking a backroad to the airport - I had no idea what he said in his response… He keeps driving and we’re now in an industrial looking area. He pulls up to an entrance and stops the car. I asked where we were and he said, “the airport”. I looked at him and asked what kind of airport it was we were at and he said he thought it was strange that we were going to the “flight school” with two suitcases and then told me we’d have to pay another $45 to get to the airport… There’s no way that dude didn’t premeditate that bullshit. We were scammed
